Kaphal Kanarkha Homestay - Padampuri

If you want to be in nature and experience a natural lifestyle, this is the place to be! Kanarkha is a small, quiet village surrounded by pristine forests. I was here in second week of June and the weather was perfect - enough sunlight and cool. I spent my days reading, going on treks to different mountains nearby, painting pine cones, farming and talking to the family. Its a great place to learn farming and appreciate whwre our food comes from. Dayaji, Bhavna or Vrinda would accompany on the treks and help spot native plants, birds and animals. It's amazing how much they love nature and are curious inspite of spending all their lives here - nature is not taken for granted. The room is made of wood, stone and mud and is quite well lit and sufficiently furnished. I was waking up early as per sunlight and sleeping early too. The food is simple and very delicious since all ingredients are farm fresh and natural - i will miss the different dals, aloo, chaulahi sabzi, bhaang ki chutney/kadi and chulhe ki roti! Dayaji went out of his way to get me fruits and make fruit smoothies for my breakfast everyday! Most importantly, the family made me feel loved and cared for - my home away from home! ❤️

My one week stay at Daya Ji's stay was a memorable one. The whole family is very loving, helpful and humble in nature. They will provide you all the necessary items you need during the stay. They provide you local authentic home cooked Kumaoni food grown in their farm. They also help in guiding to your local unexplored trek. En route the trek they will show the Himalayan flora and fauna. You will get to see a variety of birds. The local custom and beliefs of Uttarakhand is also explained by them. Overall it was an amazing experience.

We spent 3-4 days at the homestay and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our travel in the recent past. The place is nestled between natural beauty and pure gadhwali culture. The home cooked meals on chulha were simply awesome. Daya ji and his family have been extremely hospitable. For those who love to be at peace and want to experience the village life of hills, I would highly recommend this place which is super economical with a great view and pure relaxation.

We visited Daya Kishan’s home stay for 4 days and loved their generosity, hospitality and simplicity. Neatly maintained rooms, simple but extremely tasty pahadi wood fire cooked meals and pristine environment untouched by pollution was a great stress relief ! Kids loved the farm activities that we carried out during our visit. it’s an excellent place for birding, trekking and observing butterflies and stars

The picturesque landscape, local food, nearby farms, and treks offer a deep insight into Uttarakhandi/Kumaoni culture, as well as the region’s birds and animals. As an animal lover, the showstopper for me was the adorable Kaallu—Dayaji’s pet dog🐶 😊

Staying at Kanarkha homestay was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warm hospitality by Mr. Daya ji & family . The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with a beautiful views of the garden and mountains. We especially enjoyed the delicious home-cooked meals like aalu k gatte ,paratha and organic beans vegetables , which were a real treat. The overall atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing, making it a perfect getaway. We highly recommend Kanarkha home stay for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay in Kanarkha village . We would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at Kaphal Kanarkha Homestay for a week in May 2025, and my experience was truly unforgettable. The views from this homestay are so mesmerizing that it feels as if nature has scattered all its beauty right here. The rooms here are made of mud, stone, and wood, and staying in them offers a unique feeling. It provides an experience of being close to nature, away from modernity. The owners of the homestay, Daya Ji and his family, are incredibly cheerful and hospitable. They took great care of my every comfort, making me feel right at home. The food here was delicious, especially the amaranth (chaulai) and bean vegetables from their own farm, whose taste I still can't forget. Fresh vegetables truly have a flavor of their own. I thoroughly enjoyed the jungle walk from the homestay to the school. Daya Ji is an expert at trekking. He took me to several amazing places with breathtaking views. I highly recommend staying at this homestay. If you're looking for peace amidst nature and an authentic experience, Kaphal Kanarkha Homestay is the perfect place for you.
