NillFirst of all I would like to say a big thank you to the homestay owners for being such humble and helpful. Staying in Mysa Maya was a good experience. Their hospitality and behaviour was really good. We had dinner and breakfast options available only but what they served was pretty good and healthy. Thank you once again to make our stay so comfortable.

NillI had a worst experience to stay in such homestay like Mysa Maya. Mr. Arya has always smiling face with good for nothing!! Having no minimum facilities for winter season as per their rates of rooms and food. Rooms are very much ordinary according to the price. Also the quality of foods are very simple! I have chosen this homestay after reading some reviews but it was my big mistake. Location of this homestay is very nasty. He provides me cars for local scenes which was very high and made me cheated. PLEASE DONOT CHOOSE THAT HOMESTAY EVER.

NillWe booked “Mysa Maya Homestay” Darjeling, based on Google reviews but were left disappointed. Here’s my honest review based on my two-day stay: 1. Unaccommodating Owner: The owner was inflexible and unhelpful, often dismissing guest requests and arguing instead of resolving issues. 2. Parking problem: Parking was charged but not well-organized. On our final day, other vehicles blocked the space we paid for. The owner insisted we leave by 3:30 AM to accommodate another guest’s plans, even though our checkout time was 11 AM. After much discussion, we arranged to move the car ourselves, but the situation escalated when another vehicle blocked the gate, delaying us until 7 AM and ruining our sleep. 3. Lack of Amenities: • No heater in the room despite freezing temperatures. • Only one kettle shared across rooms, forcing us to manage with cold water in chilly weather. • Only one towel provided for two people for two days, which was highly inconvenient. (In case, if they provide additional towel then it will gonna cost additional Rs.500) 4. Unreasonable Justifications: When we pointed out the lack of basic amenities, the owner argued that such services were not feasible at their homestay, even though nearby hotels offered better facilities at lower prices. Positive Note: The only good part was when we missed dinner due to late shopping, and the owner provided us with food. However, this came at the cost of compromising the next day’s breakfast. Conclusion: The overall experience was unpleasant, marked by poor management, lack of amenities, and unprofessional service. This homestay failed to deliver even basic hospitality and is not worth the price. I would not recommend “Mysa Maya Homestay” to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

NillI stayed here for 4 days, arya and uncle are the best host. They prepare food as per the guest request, and the food was delicious ❤️. They take care of every minor detail like filling my water bottle with hot water every now and then, made sure that I carry sweater and umbrella every time I head out, and gave attention to every minor detail. Being a solo female traveler I felt so safe and enjoyed every bit of my trip. They arranged a cab for me for site seeing and airport transfer. They even shared their incidents, fun stories and local insights with me at dinner and breakfast time. It felt like home. The property is good, the room and washrooms were clean and contained all necessary things. There is a common area which has a dining table and sofa where you can enjoy the breathtakingly valley views and the toy train along with the weather. When the weather is clear you can also spot Kanchenjunga from the window. Overall it was an amazing experience.

NillThis is probably the most lovely homestay we have ever stayed in. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much, we didn’t want to leave! Aarya is a wonderful host who immediately made us feel at home after our long journey from Delhi. He went above and beyond to make our time in Darjeeling memorable, and was so helpful and kind. The rooms are so comfortable and clean, and beautifully furnished. Hot showers, cozy beds and a great view over the town from the balcony. The homestay is quiet and peaceful, away from the traffic of the main road. Town is a short walk away, and there are a lot of smaller shops very close. Shout out to Shiva for the excellent home cooked food!

NillAuthentic experience! My wife and I spent 3 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it! We had a hot shower with the geyser, clean room with a valley view and a view of the Himalayas from the balcony, and a warm bed! We enjoyed chatting with other guests, hearing stories and experiences from the hosts - father and son - Karma and Aarya, and benefited from their advice on transportation and tourist points. The guest house we stayed at was just off the main road approximately 150 meters downhill. But in the mornings after a simple breakfast and Darjeeling tea, the hike up the hill was just what we needed to warm up our legs for the day ahead. We loved the location too as it was a 5 minute walk to the Darjeeling train station for our joyride on the toy train. To us 39 year-olds (OK...my wife is 38), everything seemed like it was within walking distance. In our opinion, homestays are the best way to enjoy an adventure as you get to appreciate the local hospitality and get a better experience of what authentic Darjeeling is like. We absolutely loved it and would recommend to others. It is perfect for the price! Would come again!

NillWe enjoyed the hospitality and lodging of Aarya and the Mysa Maya team. The facilities were excellent and the hosts were ever-present to tend to our questions and needs regarding activities in Darjeeling and its surrounding areas. Some of our requests were not accommodated and the site, at the bottom of a steep hill, is difficult to access. Yet an overall enjoyable experience and I would recommend Mysa Maya to those who are physically able to access its facilities.
