Banabas Homestay

We had a really good experience staying at Banabas homestay. The homestay has a really good valley view and a direct Mt Kachenjunga view from terrace and two of their rooms. Our host Prashanth and his mom made sure we had really good food and we had some nice conversation with them. They are very welcoming and accommodating. My mom, aunt and me had a nice stay here.

I had a fantastic stay at this homestay, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The rooms were excellent—comfortable beds, soft pillows, cozy blankets (two per room), cupboards, plenty of storage space, and a water heater with a geyser, which was a blessing in the cold season. The owner, Prasant Ji, was extremely hospitable and well-behaved, making us feel at home right from the start. His family was equally sweet, and we never felt like we were away from home. Safety is top-notch, making this place ideal for both solo travelers and families. The home-cooked food was delicious and hygienic, offered at a reasonable price. From morning tea to dinner, we were well taken care of. While we often had lunch during our trip, we always had dinner at the homestay, and Prasant Ji even packed us dinner for our return journey. Despite it being peak season, he managed to arrange a cab for us, adding to the smoothness of our trip. The highlight, though, was the mesmerizing view from the terrace. Enjoying my morning tea up there became my favorite routine, and the view at night was even more breathtaking—words don't do it justice. In summary, this homestay was a perfect experience in every way, and I strongly recommend it. If you're considering it, don't hesitate—just book it! My advice would be to book well in advance for months like October or February to April. At last I had just one regret, I didn't able to see the mighty Kangchenjunga due to the surprising weather. I had booked this stay for my parents thinking of giving them a homely feel with stay and food both ways while they are on vacation. My parents were really happy with the experience they got from the host. They were happy with the homely food and the helpful behaviour of the host. The host Prashant also helps us with providing rented car for local commute and sightseeing. I would recommend anyone who is travelling with elderly or with kid to choose this home stay for the obvious reasons, good homely food, neat and clean rooms, local help, sightseeing help or any kind of help which might be needed.

Ambience of the homestay is very good. Total homely atmosphere. Owner and family members are very cooperative, responsible and helpful. Food is excellent and hygienic. Rooms are very clean. Services are very punctual and outstanding. Views of Kanchanjangha and Darjeeling city from windows and terrace are superb and most beautiful.

We stayed at Banabas homestay during our recent Darjeeling trip. Our sincere thanks to Mr. Prasant (the owner) for his warm-welcoming and helps during the stay. The best part of Banabas is you can get a clear view of Kanchenjunga from your room (deluxe) and as well as from terrace. The location is near Rajbari area. The foods that Mr. Prasant offered was really delicious and healthy. Overall, it was a enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Location is perfect with wonderful view of Kachanjunga Range from room. Super clean rooms. Courteous and very cooperative Owner Mr.Prashanth Chhetri. Food was homely, tasty and Hygenic. Highly Recommended for Family and Friends!
