Kalimpong Sunrise Inn Homestay

We were hosted by Prakash Uncle and his family for Two days and it was a wonderful experience for us. The food was great, The stay was really comfortable and the view was just mesmerizing. It the morning sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying sunrise through the mountains. The room (Studio Room with 2 beds) was charged 2250 per night for 3 persons. Food Quality and Quantity was really upto the mark. I would surely recommend for a stay to everyone. Note: To enter the Homestay we had to climb down quite a number of stairs ( 50 approx) so keep that in mind if you have any knee problem or any elderly people is travelling with you.

Homely environment, decent clean bed linen, pillow covers, comforter covers etc .. it is perfect 💯 Decent WiFi speed with uninterrupted Teams call for my office during my 3 nights stay. Perfect wfh environment with a mountain view and make your own hot water/Yea / Coffee. The homely food is ideal for longterm wfh and the host is really good at it. Food is a bit pricey but you need to pay for it as it is not a hotel with mass cooking. I will probably come back again for a break whenever ' get a chance for it. Food cost is almost 1/3 rd of my lodging cost (for one). Shared this information for long term stay and break. Finally it is worth it.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently. We would love to give a better rating for the view from this property but the unprofessionalism of the owners made it a bitter experience. First day they served breakfast without asking and informing what and when they were serving. They took order for dinner and later said ordered items were not available. The worst thing is, the homestay owner manipulated our driver saying that he is charging us less for dropping in Darjeeling as we had turned his offer for the same down because of higher prices. For that we ended up paying higher as the driver started making tantrums even after accepting the fare initially. Food quality was average. The greed and inappropriate behaviour of the owner ruined our experience here. Wouldn't recommend this place.

Mesmerizing view of the mountains, excellent homely food of our choice and hospitality of Mr Prakash & family made our stay memorable. Would highly recommend this place for long/ short stay in Kalimpong.

Our stay was confirmed by Agoda. But he didn't let us stay saying they don't work with Agoda blah blah. Why would he confirm our stay if the room is not available? Also the owner's attitude is through the roof. Made us wander on the street carrying heavy luggages. Don't stay in this stupid place.

Disappointing Stay at Sunrise Inn Homestay, Kalimpong I recently stayed at Sunrise Inn Homestay in Kalimpong with my family, and our experience was disappointing. Initially, the host was friendly and welcoming, but his behavior changed drastically after we arrived. The room had maintenance issues, such as a non-functional toilet flush, which the host blamed us for. We had to cancel two days of our stay due to terrible road conditions, and although the host initially agreed to adjust the booking amount, he later demanded payment for the cancelled days. The homestay lacked room service, and the "free breakfast" advertised on Google was misleading. The breakfast options shown in the photos were not provided to us. Furthermore, the lunch and dinner menu was exorbitantly priced compared to other hotels in the area, making it an unaffordable option for us. Additionally, we were overcharged for scooty rental. Initially, we were quoted ₹1000 without petrol, but after we found a better deal elsewhere, the host suddenly reduced the price to ₹600 without petrol. This raises suspicions that the initial price was inflated and only reduced because we had another option. Overall, our stay at Sunrise Inn Homestay was marred by the host's inconsistent behavior, maintenance issues, and deceptive advertising, overpriced food options, and questionable pricing practices. We would not recommend this homestay to others.

We had initially booked the homestay for four days, but due to bad weather conditions, we couldn’t arrive on the first day. We informed the owner and requested to modify our booking to three days, asking if they could cancel the first day. "aap aiyen na phir dekhte hay" were his exact words. The owner’s behavior was unprofessional. Although we had informed him about our delayed arrival due to bad weather, he still claimed not to have booked the first day. The adjacent room was vacant, so it was clear he was lying. The toilet was out of order, and the flush wasn’t working. Despite this issue persisting since our arrival, the owner blamed us, suggesting we had caused the problem. His response was unfounded and unhelpful. Initially friendly, his attitude changed after check-in, and he showed little care.It’s frustrating when someone’s behavior doesn’t match their initial friendliness. The food is expensive, and the only positive aspect of the homestay is the scenic view from the balcony. If you’re interested in that, go ahead, but don’t be deceived by the owner’s initial friendliness, as we were

My family put up here for two nights. I would have given them 10 stars if Google let me. A well renovated, greatly hospitable homestay with extremely caring owners. My brother had fallen acutely ill at night and the way the people had taken care of him and my family is beyond just commendable. We will forever be grateful to them for this. They even arranged for his birthday celebrations, decorating their huge terrace with a view, and baking a cake. The mini party in the lap of nature at a home was extremely heart warming. The people, honestly, take great care and do everything possible for you to have a great stay. The rooms on the top floor offer a majestic view that's great for a relaxing time.
