A Hidden Gem with an Incredible Host, Stunning Views, and Delicious Homemade Food We recently had the pleasure of staying with my family for a fortnight at this charming homestay, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, felt welcomed like family. The host was absolutely wonderful—kind, attentive, and always ready with a smile. Their hospitality made the entire stay feel extra special. The location is breathtaking. Nestled in nature, the views were straight out of a postcard—lush greenery, peaceful surroundings, and sunsets that left me in awe every evening. It was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. A special shout out to our host's mother for making those delicious meals. Every meal was homemade, full of flavors, and clearly made with love. It was some of the best vegetarian cuisine I’ve ever tasted, and each dish felt like a warm hug after a long day of exploring. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with genuine hospitality, amazing food, and nature at your doorstep, this homestay is an absolute must.

Our total trip was of 6 days, spanning across 3 locations and this Homestay was our first nights shelter. We were a pretty big party of 9, including 2 children. There are total of 2 big sized rooms, both with attached balconies, 2 toilets with shower and water heater and 1 toilet without shower. The property has a big living room with tv, sofas, center and dining table and fully working open kitchen well stocked with tastefully chosen utensils and cutlery. The bedrooms are intelligently decorated to utilize the space to the max. The beds in both the rooms can accommodate 3 people easily and there are extra bedding available for any extra guest. The owner (Ashish) is very humble, welcoming and helpful person who ensured we had the best of the stay. The view from the property is breathtaking. The lawn is ideal for insta-addicts. The food cooked by Ashish’s Mother is great. We would love to stay here if we visit Mirik again. P.S. - 1.The property has a working karaoke setup with microphone and boombox. 2. There are 2 ways to reach this property from Mirik. The good path is currently under some maintenance and should be open soon again. The other road which we had to take is not in good condition. Avoid this road in dark.

We had stayed with family on 10th and 11th May,2025 at Kutumb Kutir. Our host Ashsish Gurung was an educated and thorough gentleman and have taken best care during our stay. Everything was ok including home made foods and accomodation. It is a 2 room set including dining ,drawing room and balcony in both the rooms. Front view from the property is excellent. It is in mirik basti. Our stay was nice. Thanks to the Ashishji and their family members for taking best care during our stay in the property. Road repairing was under process.

We stayed at this spectacular homestay for one night on December 27th 2024. The view from the homestay was absolutely breathtaking. The host was very polite and helpful, and we had a wonderful conversation with him about the history of the place and its surroundings.We also enjoyed a bonfire at night, which made our stay even more memorable. Although the location is a little remote, the host arranged a cab for us in return. The food provided was purely homemade and absolutely delicious.I’m definitely planning to revisit this place for a longer stay.

We visited this paradise on earth in mirik and it's one of the best stays we ever had..the hospitality they provided us was heart warming and the food was very delicious..the roads are somewhat in bad condition but whatever else this place has to offer is a memory to cherish...the views are stunning from your room and there is so much peace in this place..overall it was a wonderful experience..we look to come again to this place...kudos to kutumba kutir.

We have spent 3 days with this beautiful family . great ambiance, best home cooked food you can ever ask for special thanks to Aunty 😇 , and the view from lawn . It was very nice and comfortable stay. Strongly recommended.

Offbeat place. Almost 30 minutes away from Mirik Lake. The condition of Road is very bad. The homestay is beautiful. All the amenities are top standard. behaviour of owner is charming. He is ready to help you in all respect. PURELY VEGETERIAN FOOD YOU HAVE TO TAKE. THEY ARE VEGETARIAN . Food quality is not good, even the quantity also not sufficient. Otherwise it is really good. Charge -- 2000 per head per day. Which I feel is not matching.

We really had a great experience at Kutumb Kutir. It was like our own home for 2 days. We went with our parents and they had their lifetime experience. They beautifully designed their home and each and everything was built thoughtfully. The view from the balcony at night is breathtaking. Food was really tasty and hygienic. The owner is so generous and helpful. He helped us to arrange our commute and that went really smoothly. We did not have to worry about anything. We felt we could have stayed a bit longer. The road to reach there was a bit offbeat but once you reach there it is really worth it. The owner gave this information while booking and we respect that transparency. It is worth visiting this place at least once if you are planning to visit Mirik. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Kutumb Kutir for all the service and making our stay memorable.
