Amar Bari Homestay

The rooms are good and offer a nice view, but they would benefit greatly from better maintenance and timely repairs. The bathroom doors could not be locked from inside, need some struggle and adjustment to do it and the taps were also defective had to use in a prescribe way and also the bed sheets felt a bit damp and not very clean. The food was average, and while the location is pleasant, there are other homestays in the area that offer better upkeep and amenities. Overall, it has potential, but improvement in maintenance and cleanliness is needed.

They show one room and then while checking in they will make you stay in another room. Don’t go by the pics of the property . Quality of food is not enough and the service is really pathetic. The wash rooms are not up to the mark. There are plenty others good home stay in that locality . The staying experience was really not good.

Our stay at Amar Bari Home Stay was quite unpleasant due to multiple issues. The service was far below expectations. Firstly, the food provided was not in full quantity as promised, and it felt like we were being served leftovers or cut-down portions. Secondly, the bathroom had serious plumbing issues — water was getting stuck and not draining properly, making it very unhygienic and uncomfortable to use. To make matters worse, the staff were unresponsive and unhelpful. Despite raising these issues multiple times, no one took any action or even showed basic concern. This was not the kind of experience we hoped for in a homestay. Definitely not recommended unless the management makes serious improvements.

We booked amar bari homestay but on the day of check in we were given other property of amar bari not the one which we pre-booked which is just beside amar bari, rooms are good but lots of insects and food quality is not good. Quantity is also less. Service is very late.

Great hospitality, we stayed for 2 days there , they took good care of us and very scenic location. Both the owner Hiranmay da and Baban da are so welcoming spent the days well.

It was a 'ok' experience to stay there. Because we booked a room for 2 days. The door of washroom was broken. The electricity of the homestay was very poor. There were no backup system for electricity. We faced the problem back to back 2 days. The behaviour of house help was good. But the behaviour of owner was too disappointing. We booked from Kolkata. When we reached, the owner was not there to receive us. Even for his suggestion, we also booked car. Along with the owners behaviour, we faced a lot of harassment from the car drivers which he booked for us. We paid full day car-fare, but he was served us only for half day. So, the experience of Amar Bari was 'ok', but the experience of dealing with the homestay's owner was very bad.

Nice and comfortable stay . The rooms were very clean and tidy . The washroom was clean as well . If the kanchenjungha is visible then the refection would fall on the glass of the rooms . The location is very nice. Niranjan da and sujata di were gracious enough with their hospitality . A good place to visit . Just that a small suggestion the hand wash in kitchen and the kitchen itself could be even made better . Apart from that its a perfect place to stay for a day or two. The food served was also very fresh and tasty .
