NillHonest Review on the Place and Its Treatment of Pets I Was shooting at this place for my film. The place itself is quite nice, no doubt about it. However, I was deeply disappointed by the way they treat the pets they have kept—seemingly more for entertainment or show rather than genuine care. Oreo, the Labrador, was incredibly friendly and adorable, but after observing the overall treatment of the animals, I felt disheartened. They are fed only once a day, and the amount is far less than what they actually need. Worse, I noticed instances of them being beaten, which is absolutely unacceptable. The shelter provided for them is extremely small, especially considering that they are keeping three dogs there. The space is so cramped that they can hardly move around freely. Additionally, the feeding bowls are unclean, and the overall environment lacks warmth or comfort. Given its location near a jungle, I can’t even imagine how they survive during winter. If you cannot properly care for pets, please don’t keep them. Animals deserve love, care, and a safe environment—not just to be displayed for visitors.

NillOne of the best heritage properties I have stayed in, if not the best. Excellent service was provided by Preeti and her team. The service, location etc are so good that the memories are still lingering as we just left now. Really good and spacious rooms. We stayed in the suite room downstairs and it was perfect. The ambience was excellent. Food was simple and cooked in a homely manner that suited our palate perfectly. The pets Oreo and team added to the fun of the stay there. We shall visit soon. Thank you Mr Lama and team.

NillMy family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Takdah Bungalow No. 12, and it was an unforgettable experience. Even a week later, memories of the pine-scented jungle, soothing weather, and tranquil surroundings linger. The bungalow's enchanting location offers a perfect retreat for nature lovers seeking peace. While the food was average, the exceptional hospitality of the staff more than made up for it. Their dedication, warmth, and eagerness to ensure our comfort made our stay truly special. The bungalow itself exudes old-world charm, surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking views. It's the ideal place to unwind and soak in the beauty of the mountains. We're already planning our next visit, and I highly recommend Takdah Bungalow No. 12 for a tranquil getaway amidst nature.

NillNestled among the pines, the Colonial Bungalow No. 12 will surely take your breath away. This property is more than a century old, as a result it gives an old world charm with all the modern facilities. This place I believe is for those who want to spend a quiet and tranquil holiday. There is not much happening around this area, Takdah market is also half an hour walk from this place, but this is such a delightful property with so much endearing qualities that one may spend an entire day loitering within its perimeter. That is exactly what I did during my not one but two nights stay here. Rooms are spacious and for an entire day's meal comprising breakfast, lunch and dinner the cost will be 900 rupees per person.

NillThis is an out of this world place, straight out of the history books. Wonderfully maintained by the proprietor Mr. Lama and his wife, Archana. The rooms were beautiful with all modern facilities. Food and service, provided by Preeti and her team, was excellent. Very caring.

NillA very essential piece of information regarding this property needs to be shared. Hence I'm writing this review. Heritage has three extremely well behaved, calm and extra specially human friendly dogs who to my surprise turns out to be just "show pieces". They are extremely ill treated. To be specific, the three full grown babies are fed only ONCE a day with surprisingly small quantities and atrociously dirty dirty food bowls. When i questioned the caretaker about this, he said that, "that's the rule that has been set by the owner". This is just the tip of the iceberg. They have an extremely tiny enclosure, small enough to make the dogs almost immobile while being inside it, where the dogs are locked from dawn till morning without food, without water. The enclosure is in the exterior, its freezing cold most of the time and the dogs have no option but bear it all night. ABOVE ALL THE DOGS ARE BEATEN UP FOR THE SMALLEST OF EXCUSES. "Oreo" the labrador was in my room for a little while as i wished to spend sometime with him, when the caretaker suddenly turns up , starts beating him up, pulls him by the neck in a manner where Oreo almost starts chocking!!!!!! On trying to stop the caretaker from being inhuman i get to learn that the OWNER DOSENT APPROVE OF SUCH INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THE CUSTOMERS AND THE DOGS!!!!!! BOTTOMLINE- I sincerely feel, that this particular resort deserves to be shut down for torturing the voiceless or they should not have the dogs at all( give them away to an ngo).

Nill"Extremely disappointing experience. Despite paying a premium rate, we were shocked to find: - No space available for drivers - No spare towels or basic amenities - Poor value for money considering the high room rates Overall, the service was subpar and not worth the cost. Highly disappointing experience."
