Charging nearly ₹3000 for a single room shared by four guests feels unreasonable given the limited space and inadequate amenities. The upper bunk bed doesn’t even have enough headroom for a person to sit upright comfortably, which adds to the overall discomfort. Additionally, the hospitality is lacking. The hosts don’t seem interested in making the stay a pleasant or memorable experience. Overall, not worth it.

We recently stayed at Zostel Sangla and had a truly memorable experience. The food here deserves a special mention it was absolutely delicious! Nothing was overly spicy, just the right balance of flavor. We tried the Israeli breakfast in the morning and butter chicken for lunch both were top-notch and prepared perfectly. The hospitality was warm and genuine. The staff members were kind, humble, and always ready to help. They maintained a high level of professionalism throughout our stay. A big shoutout to Vinod Bhaiya, the manager, who is an amazing host. He really knows how to run the property and make guests feel at home. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Sangla. Will definitely visit again!

Very well managed by Vinod kumar who always served us with a smile on his face. The food was the best in town. We treated ourselves to perfectly made hot chocolate at every meal. It overlooks snowy peaks which was a beautiful setting. Rooms were warm and cozy. They have a big geyser which gives you ample hot water for extra long showers.

The view and location were good, but the service for the single room was very poor. There was no in-room service, even though the room was booked for a single person. The room had no phone, and basic items like shampoo, moisturizer, comb, or a daily essentials kit were missing. The washroom was also not clean. Additionally, the food prices were very high for a hostel — for example, one parantha cost ₹220.

Before talking about stay, I’ll talk about the food which was incredibly amazing. I wasn’t expecting it at such a small location and it literally took me by surprise. Beautiful property and a must stay. Do eat up a lot during your time here.

I stayed in a Deluxe Room at this property for two days, from January 27th to 29th, 2025. We booked two rooms for a group of four. Positives: 1. The views from the rooms, overall property ambiance, and open spaces were excellent. 2. The chef and food quality were top-notch, making the dining experience enjoyable. Issues Faced: 1. The glass panel above the door in the Deluxe Room is misplaced, allowing anyone to see inside or even record at night. 2. The window beside the bed had an open gap at the bottom, letting in strong winds that directly hit the face, making it difficult to sleep. 3. The property enforces rigid policies—no food or drinks allowed in the room. I fell ill during my stay and requested soup in my room, but the caretaker refused and even canceled my order. If you’re a backpacker who can adjust easily, this place might work for you. However, if you seek even a moderate level of comfort, you might find it disappointing.

I met many good friends and solo travelers in Sangla hostel. This place in Himachal is no less than heaven. The small village, apple trees and river banks will win your heart.

It was fantastic. Vinod bhaiya (the manager) was extremely helpful and Ram, who was volunteering there, felt no less than a friend. Both of them made the stay truly memorable. I will miss this place and will definitely choose it again in the future.
