The Nook Sainj

This was my first backpacking trip to Himachal, and choosing The Nook for my stay was absolutely the right decision. While the location can be a bit tricky to find, the stunning view more than makes up for it. It's also conveniently located near a bus stop, making it easy to explore nearby areas if you're traveling on a budget. The Nook offers a warm, homely stay with delicious home-cooked meals and a breathtaking view of the surroundings. Our host, Saloni, ensured we had a true community experience, adding a personal touch that made the stay even more special.

Come for the curiousity of a mud house, stay for the people hosting you and Penny. The quaintness, the serenity, the chirping of birds, the picture perfect mountain in the background, it's the perfect place to find your soul, discover your spirit (until the hike to the house from the main road breaks it again). The food is comforting, the beds are extremely cozy, as is the whole common space; just travel here already! P.S. please book flexi-fare bus/train/flight tickets for your return journey because you'll definitely want to cancel and stay longer, come what may.

First of all thanks for making my stay memorable. Nook is situated in a very beautiful and peaceful location and I get to see beautiful views from there every day. The number of days I stayed at Nook was spent with pleasant views and the staff at Nook were very friendly. I did not feel at all that I was with strangers. The owner of the place, Saloni is a sweet heart and v helpful and the food is very tasty, please try chole rice, it is the best and whenever I go to Sainj, I will visit nook and eat the sandwich made by Alisha. Of course how can I forget our pooch baby penny 🐾 she is a goof ball and I immediately fell in love with the lil cutie. Last but not least the taxi is v v costly so try taking local buses as much as possible.

I had a fantastic stay at this homestay! 🌸 The Host Saloni is very friendly and the staff is too amazing. I had a lot of fun playing this card game called Cabo. The place is so good and the amazing view will take your breath away. The food is really really delicious. Must try their coffee it’s the best. The rooms are great! How can I forget their charm Penny! Who made me feel right at home. Thank you The Nook for your amazing hospitality. I really had a memorable stay. ❤️✨

I had a delightful stay at The Nook during my backpacking trip to Sainj Valley.The home stay offered a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and convenience. The nook is spotless and beautifully decorated with a rustic charm. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the living space was cozy with plenty of natural light. The host, Saloni is wonderful. She was available for any questions and gave excellent recommendations for nearby hiking and trails. And how can I forget our fabulous chef Alisha AKA Wdon.And of course Penny.🐶 The attention to detail in the nook’s decor made it feel like a home away from home. Considering the amenities and the quality of the accommodation, it was excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and charming place to stay. It’s perfect for couples and solo backpackers Sending truck loads love 💕💕

Cannot recommend enough. The location is just perfect. Accessible but just secluded enough. The rooms are amazing! The food is great. Time moves differently here. Ask Saloni to teach you this fun game called Cabo :)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Nook, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The place looks exactly like the pictures - cozy, serene, and beautifully maintained. Saloni, our host, was incredibly helpful and guided us seamlessly from booking to exploring the local attractions. Her recommendations for nearby tourist spots were spot-on and made our trip even more memorable. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the views. I must say she has chosen the perfect location. The “ghar ka khana” style dishes were both delicious and hygienic, eliminating the need to dine out. The hosts, including the friendly pet dog Penny, were welcoming and attentive, adding to the homely feel of the place. The scenic views and tranquil weather only enhanced our experience, making it a perfect getaway. Thank you, Saloni and Alisha, for making this trip worth every penny. I highly recommend The Nook for anyone seeking a peaceful and enriching stay.
