The Shangri-La Serene

The views from the balcony was so surreal which cannot be described through words, I spent the best 2.5 days of this year enjoying that breathtaking view. The air was so fresh and the atmosphere was so good; gentle breeze, sunshine along with the chirping of birds, gave a pleasant sensation in my soul. The downside I would say is, room service was not there, like it should be cleaned either on morning or evening, which wasn't there during my stay. Food quality could have been better, but there's always a room for improvement, and the staff were very nice I won't deny it.

This hotel can be considered as 2 star or lower, with no value for money. We had booked a "Suite" room here for a family and was disappointed to see the room they gave, it's a standard room with a queen bed, sofa set and room heater. This was the biggest room available! Dining experience was pathetic. Limited items available, like plain rice, roti, dal, one sabji, chicken curry on request. Breakfast was bread, omlet or boiled egg. There are no sufficient staff and everytime had to wait for 15-30 mins for food to be served. We stayed for 3 days, and room wasn't cleaned even once, nor was trash cleared. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

This is not hotal you can say home stay, limited staff, a family are run this hotal, but they are good and humble, food oftens are limited

For efforts and trying I will give this a 4 star place. And room was also good, spacious with balcony and good view of the Tawang monastery. For that too I will give 4 star. But this is no hotel. It is like a home stay where owner is giving you services. No proper restaurant. Only 4 persons are there including manager and his wife(they are humble people) to maintain a property, cleaning, cooking. Electricity is a big issue in Tawang. So heating is not an option Due to voltage issue. We stayed here for 3 nights. First night there was no light in the room from 11 pm to 6 am. Temperature was 2 degrees. There is a generator in the building but rarely use that. People are good but they don’t have any experience of services and resources. You have to ask everything yourself even water bottles. Food options are also very limited (2-3 options) I won’t recommend this hotel. We got this hotel because of my travel agent. We chose deluxe room in the package and this was not even a standard. So be careful with your travel agent while choosing hotels.

We (family of 6) stayed from 20 - 23 December 2023 The rooms were well maintained with a scenic view of tawang monastery and mountains Hot water was available Food was good, Jain food is available on request The manager, Mr. Lham Tsering, was very helpful and cooperative We really enjoyed our stay

My experience at Shangrila wasn't very good. As the hotel lacks in few very crucial things. First, they do not have any chef, hence food was very bad and expensive. Second, room service was very slow and unprofessional. Third, no specified place for drivers to stay. And last is the unprofessional staff. Talking about the location, it was very good and quality of rooms was nice and fine. ALL in all you can find some more better options with good location and food.

Good Hotel like a home stay, hot water in bathroom is am issue, no wi fi, and also no proper TV. Food is ok. But not much choice available. Good and helpful people.

A sub-standard hotel with no ethics, no basic amenities and low on customer satisfaction. Do not ever choose this hotel as it has no regards for customers and does not have basic facilities. Totally disgusting and worthless. Don't ever choose this hotel.
