Hotel Shanti

To the people finding this property easy on internet, please give a good hard look before coming. i came with my parents to the holy city but this hotel was a specific turnoff. the management and treatment is quite subpar even an indian standard. location is worthless , somewhere off the road even rickshaw drivers got pissed off. it is dark and cool so you may not need AC. staff is so inexperienced yet outsmart. ( a general opinion about people here, very rude and dont entertain a second hearing on request, sadly). they say there is hot water , but no geyser in place, we waited but hot water got used and one had to wait till he gives up. there is no electricity when you need the most ( a property like this needs a generator not a puny inverter !) forget cupboard, the room doesnt even have a hangar ! no mirrors in bathroom, hard to shave. good respite : very strong wifi ! but with this laggardness in service, specially for senior people who dont need wifi, i dont think the pricing is commensurate. a bad deal overall. stay period : october 2015

The staff were kind, and helpful. The rooms, and bathromms could have been a little bit cleaner, but it was still OK for us. We missed the toilet paper in our bathroom. We were really close (maximum 10 minute long walk to the centre). They sent cars for us the the Gaya Airport, which is also a nice gesture. We enjoyed staying there.

My room had no towel, soap, or drinking water (even plain), no window curtains. Bathroom light was nonoperational. Room had a 25 year old tube-type TV. There was not even a mirror in the bathroom. No phone in room, no attendant at reception! When I finally received a towel, it was quite dirty. See several pictures I've posted. When I asked the owner Binay, he gave lame excuses like "We gave you a double bed instead of a single bed" (what will do with a double bed when I am the only person in a room and one bed is enough?!) Then I was able to rent the same kind of room for Rs. 400 per night in Gaya city. EXTREMELY expensive even for Rs. 600 per night. Look for other hotels and get better service.

Hotel santi is situated in 5 minutes walking distance from the maha bodhi temple . Very clean quite & standerd quality rooms. The owner lives in the same building & treats guests as family. Very helpful and cooperative. |Nice place to rest with family or friends and visit the temples by walk enjoying the whole of bodhogaya.

The hotel is noisy, very hard to rest properly. You can hear everything from your room, and in particular the cook active in the kitchen at 4:00 in the morning. ||Besides this, the location is correct as you can easily walk to most of the places you should see in Bodhgaya

Very nice hotel it is very clean and quit. Nice to stay here. This is 2 minutes walking distance from Mahabodhi Temple. Staff are very friendly. Hotel owner is also friendly and helpful and also arranged taxi. They gives very good service. I suggested this hotel.

One of the worst experiences in bodh gaya. It was like if you want to stay or we don't care. There was no service. The room was ok. This hotel is fine of you just want a room and you don't mind anything else.

Great Experience! The hotel feels like ur own home! Staffs are very nice and friendly. Located at a very peaceful place.
