SPOT ON 40218 Mumtaz Guest House

The staff are lovely and helpful. It's a basic hotel (rooms and furniture could be painted to give a lift) but the location is great. Do not change money here. Do not buy goods from the gift shop. These people are business orientated and I found the prices are just too high. A crystal mala was twice the price I paid in Australia and it was exactly the same... identical. I was shocked. Also, in the high season you pay top dollar around $80 aud a night. If you go to the Hotel Dhamma Grand you get a 5 star hotel for the same price. You cannot compare the two at all. Location is the difference, but we found the tut tut ride 10 mins and haggle. It's 20 rupiah, but we usually paid 50.

I stayed 6 weeks at this guesthouse together with 9 of my friends . I would highly recommend the rooms , they are as good as the best hotel in Bodhgaya , they have marble flooring , each room Has it's own toilet with bidet and shower , the place is very new and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful unlike most other Indian hotels . It is only a 6minute walk to the main temple so I was able to come back to use my room toilet several times a day ( no small benefit if you have seen how dirty the Mahabodhi toilets are ) . The rate was very reasonable and I would think it offers the best value I have seen in Bodhgaya

Place is ok, although very polluted next to garbage swamp. Owners are really nice but they should hire another hotel manager than Tamim who always acts like you are distrurbing him and most of the time doesn't even bother saying hello.

Best service and help one could ask for. Clean bedding and rooms. Just ask and Tamim will make it happen for you. Highly recommended

Well kept rooms with hot shower. Helpful staff and a nice clean kitchen that we can use. Very close to the Main Temple.

Rooms are spacious but they don’t have TV connections and when we asked we are told that since people who visit here are pilgrims they don’t watch TV. Then why do they put up a TV anyways?

Good facielety room was good service was quite good .. have elevator in a short way top recommended from my side...everything from here taxi train ticket flight ticket and tour management ....so veryi
