Gama Hotel assagao grande

I do NOT recommend you stay here! I found it dirty, noisy, and chaotic and the staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing. When I first got there, there seemed some kind of issue with my booking, so I had to use my phone to call a manager. Then I was told I couldn't use my card to pay, I'd have to get money from the ATM (the next day I was told there were none nearby, I'd need to get a taxi = I ended up having to use a friend's GPay). It was the rooms that were pretty disgusting though. I had booked an apartment at over 4000 rupees a night but the room I was shown was nothing like the pictures - it was tiny, smelt strange and there was grime and markings all over the wall (see photo). I was 'upgraded' to the next category of room (even though I'm pretty sure this is more like the one I paid for originally) and while it was bigger, it was still dirty (the shower hadn't been cleaned and was disgusting - see attached photo) and there was a toilet roll in the bed (?!). Plus there were exposed wires in a plug that hadn't been fixed, and more grime on the walls. It didn't seem like any love or attention had gone into the place at all. What's more, because of the central location, it is incredibly noisy at night - you'll hear constant music, people and traffic til gone 2am, so if you're a light sleeper you'll struggle. I instead recommend trying Blue Jay Guest House - 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes on a scooter - which is quiet, calm, pristine and the staff are wonderful. Plus it's literally half the price! I really dislike posting negative reviews but this has been the worse place I've stayed for a while.
