Alt Life - Dharamkot (Mcleodganj)

Stayed for 8 nights. Had a comfortable and lovely stay. The staff is caring and sincere. I felt highly safe. Met good people in the dorms, and we became friends. Great view from the dorms. Had a very peaceful and memorable time of solitude as well as social time. Cosy beds. With a little more maintenance and higher standards of hygiene, it could be a 3-star property. Food is not bad. Would recommend it for solo female travellers, especially for your first solo trip. Kudos to Nanak and his warm hospitality and his teammates' support at ALTLIFE. They actually insisted on bringing me medicines when I had fallen sick during on an excursion, and kept checking on my health. It was nice to find such genuinely sweet and caring people. Any discomfort I had, I let them know and they genuinely looked into it. Good memories :)

Had a great time at Alt life. The food here is delicious, must try their parantha and cheese maggi. The host Nanak is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Proper hygiene is maintained in the hostel. There is also live music on evenings which is fun. The crowd here is also very nice and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Would recommend it to everyone!

Lovely hospitality by Nanak at the hostel. I stayed here for 4 days and it was very peaceful and had the best time with my friends. Will highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet getaway.

Stayed with family in Individual rooms for 3 days (not in Dorm) & wished to stay more.... Very clean, hygienic wash rooms, amazingly Comfortable beds .... Polite & cooperative staff…. rooms are cleaned daily... Great vibes over all & relaxing view from balcony with constant company of birds chirping sweetly through out the day... happening cafés & eateries in walkable distance... Hostel itself had a Cafe which serve delicious food… Overall GREAT experience in Alt Life ..right in the heart of proper Israeli village ... Highly recommended if you prefer quite relaxing stay away from City Rush !!! Booked through Agoda and everything went smoothly !

A lovely property just above the village of Dharamkot, the beds are comfy and the service is lovely. The hostel is perfect if you want to relax in the beautiful hills of the Kangra valley.

My recent stay at Alt Life in Dharamkot was WORST. We arrived excited for a cozy peaceful mountain retreat, but things took a strange turn. The staff immediately started sharing spooky stories everything from bear attacks and leopards prowling around to ghostly rumors about an accident site behind the hotel. They even mentioned hearing cooking sounds from a closed kitchen. They told us about paranormal activities happened in room. Also about frequent visit of Leopard nearby. That scared us. Also they told weird bear stories. Food was too expensive there also the room quality was not upto the mark. Bed mattress had spring in it and was uncomfortable and nothing was good. They spoiled our day and we didn’t enjoyed anything, previously before checkin they told about live music and bonfire and nothing happened there. Will never recommend anyone to stay there. WORSTTT EXPERIENCE !!
