Flagship Hotel Gipsy King

We checked in early. The care-taker was humble to make the room ready for our stay. We checked in and the rooms were clean. Linens were laid. What caught my eyes is the wall-art, the cielings too were done the same way. What I liked is, our rooms were on second floor where they have covered the verandah and given a great sit-out zone. Piled up with mattress and how much did we enjoy our hookah and daru session here. Ofcourse post 10pm the guy did not let us play music thanks to the tough cop check around the are. It is very near to the Bhagsu nag temple and the staff is friendly too. The Terrace has been converted into a rooftop restaurant which is a cute little place to enjoy your food. Either on the table or the Indian way floor sitting style diner. ||||The prices are too economical. The only challenge was from the bhagsu parking you have to walk and its a steep walk. Not exactly a uphill but yet it can be hectic. And after the trek I actually could have asked for a stretcher. ||||But all together an amazing stay.

Very neat clean and well maintained newly built property in Bhagsu for a very reasonable price . The rooms were nice and clean and the bathroom was also very clean. The linens, towels etc everything was new and clean. Staff behaviour was very nice, very attentive and prompt. WiFi worked well. It is located about 200 metres away uphill from the main Bhagsu taxi stand. ||Things I did not like - Breakfast was tasty but very less just one parantha per person or 2 toasts and omelette. I had my bus at 5 pm so I requested if I could vacate the room by 4 pm, they asked me for extra money for staying for few hours more even when the whole hotel was totally vacant with no occupancy, that was weird.

The management here are very friendly. They allowed us to keep our bags and settle on their comfortable street facing balcony, as we walked in way before the actualy check-in time (11 30 am). The toilets are clean, and sleeping facilities are great for the modest price they charge. Lovely paintings of Gopis adorn the inner walls of Gipsy Kings, and it's been a lovely treat to settle into this home stay for a good period of 3 days.

Gypsy Kings is one of the best hotels/homestays that I . The men who run this enterprise are always there to help you and treat you like you were a guest at their home. ||||As I stayed here on my first overnight solo trip ever, I was obviously a little worried about my stay and how safe it would be. However, after my first interaction with them, all my worries were put to rest as these are some of the most genuine human beings I have had the pleasure of interacting with. ||They will do everything in your power to make your stay comfortable.||||Having said that, I should add that this is not the place for you if you are looking for something luxurious. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are very clean and I did not face any problems with regards to hot water. ||||Also, if you plan to get around in McLeod Ganj and Bhagsu Nag by walking, it is a little bit of a climb. However, they will always offer to help you out, by offering to pick you up or help you with your luggage.

It was a good experience staying in the hotel. The location of the hotel is great. You will know once you reach there. All the staff are very helpful and cooperative. The Wi-fi speed is good. If you are planning for a trip to Mcleodganj then try to have more days at hand so that you can enjoy bith scenic beauty of Mcleodganj, Dharamsala and staying at this hotel.

Okay okay place to stay at upper bhagsunag, Mcleordganj. It is situated at steep height and no auto goes there so choose this only when you're comfortable with the height. Approx 300 mts road is very bad and bit difficult to walk for aged people. View from the rooms are good but make sure you are packed with essential things, although market is nearby but still be ready with your essentials. Rooms are decent and normal, no hotel type facility is there. Just simple and quite room.

When we arrived here in the cold night the staff was very nice and friendly. Even providing a small heater without extra charge. The room was clean, the hot shower working and we had a god night here. So far so good. ||||But the next morning came with a nasty surprise. At 9.30 (we were making ourselves ready) someone came banging, really hard on our door and YELLING: check out, check out! Check out was at 10 am btw. We were stunned by this. Why the need to do something like this? We felt very bad about the way this hostel is managed and this was the bottom line of what hospitality in India can be. ||||When we wanted to pay by card, they made a big fuss about it and were not too happy about it, though when we booked they asked for credit card detail through Booking.com. All in all an experience with a bad aftertaste.

True to its name gipsy it is. very small rooms and basic in terms of amenities though clean. Located on a steep hill,car cant reach upto the stay and luggage need to be carried personally. Extremely good caretakers and amazing cook they are. Pleasant stay.
