The rooms are very basic, which in itself is not a problem, unless you are paying 4k a night for it because no rooms are available in the town due to a high rush of tourists. Similar rooms in other places during our 3-week long trip of Spiti and Kinnaur did not cost over 1k despite a similar tourist rush. The company running the place is just taking full advantage of the helplessness of tourists. On the brighter side, the staff and manager(s) are extremely polite and nice.

Loved your place. Room was clean and tidy, food was awesome. Local chefs cooked our order with lots of love directly from the heart of Spiti. I bought some cool and funky magnets and postcards which I would post at Hikkim, world's highest PO. I also loved the super cool tshirt designs Taste of Spiti has in their dinning room! Would visit this place again! Thank you Neema ji for the delicious food and thank you Mr Norbu for your insights on Spiti and local community! This place is run by volunteers, kudos to Shoubho for doing a great job and good luck for your experience

Choosing Osel Room for my stay in Kaza was the best decision ever. The staff's warmth and genuine care for guests, combined with the picturesque surroundings, created a memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in Himachal.

The rooms are very clean and the cafe down stairs is nice. You might see Norbu one of the owners asleep in the cafe

It was an amazing stay at Osel rooms. The owners are really caring and helpful. They even gave a heater on asking We had an amazing time there. Apart from this, the hotel is situated in the main bazaar so the shops are quite near. There are no many parking space however the manager managed to arranged the parking. Also the profit earned from this hotel goes to NGO.Must visit this property and highly recommend it. The food is not that great but you can easily get food around the hotel. Also the tawa pulav , sandwich and Meggi was decent for breakfast and dinner otherwise food is not great here..

Room is average and washroom is worst as it's stinking badly and doesn't have enough space even though it's combined, room service is Definitely not value for money. 9-Jun Apologising over social media is pretty easy rather than addressing issues. Nothing was done even after several reminders to the room service. Purchased our own room freshner to survive but it was very tough. Thanks for ruining our trip with dirty and badly smelling environment.

Found this place last minute. I was very lucky they were still opened this time of the year while most other hotels were closed for the season. Loved the stay here. My room was clean and cozy. Apparently this place is owned by ecosphere which is the best travel company in spiti. They gave me good advice on where to visit during my short stay. Next time I hope I’ll come back to spiti as a volunteer for them. They do great things here in spiti. Check them out!

Hope the following are not told by anyone to the hotel management before. So plz do not take it otherwise. We had a wonderful time in our trip. Just try to improve the hotel as per the deficiencies stated below. It will really be a wonderful place to stay. Pros: 1) Excellent Location. Just inside the main Kaza market. Although outside the hustle and bustle with open view of the valley. 2) Excellent view from almost all the rooms. Super deluxe rooms have better views. 3) Helpful and hardworking staffs. 4) The person at the front desk tried his best. 5) Transparent booking through whats app. 6) Ample sunlight from east during the morning for the east facing rooms. Ample evening sunlight for the west facing rooms. 5 stars for the above. But due to the following reasons stars are reduced. Cons: 1) We stayed in super deluxe rooms. But the interior is quite inferior. 2) Very small table inside rooms. Strongly suggest a bigger table in rooms. 3) Sharp and cheap iron latch/door lock inside room. Cut my finger. Suggest good quality locking. 4) Since in places like Kaza voltage stability is not there and geyser do not work as expected which is quite normal so solar hot water connection should be there in all washrooms. But here it is not there. In morning you have to find the staffs and ask for hot water. 5) Only one small bucket in wash rooms. When you request for hot water they will ask for that one bucket which is there in your room. So you cant mix the hot water brought by the staff with cold water to bath properly. Suggest hotel management to buy more buckets for convenience. 6) There is no way you can call the hotel staffs from your room or your floor. You may shout loudly from the common balcony for someone to hear you or you have to climb down to ground floor to reach the staffs. Suggest intercom or walkie talkie in rooms. 7) No exhaust in washrooms. Room number 105 has no outlet/air exit at all. The ventilator is stuck hard. You can't open it without breaking the ventilator. 8) Bed size is a little smaller if couples are looking for staying with one kid. Although they will charge for the kid even he is 10 yrs old. (In my case they they charged only 500 and some less instead of 800 for kid). But no extra pillow or extra quilt was given. Even the quilts provided will not cover a 6 ft person from head to toe. Strongly suggest to keep larger quilts inside room. Also suggest to provide extra blankets inside rooms in such cold places. During the day we were out for sightseeing and at night during sleep there is no option to ask for these things as the restaurant at the ground floor would be closed and you can find nobody. There is no reception. The hotel front desk is inside their restaurant Taste of Spiti. 9) Young people will not have much issues with the iron stairs from ground to 1st floor. But old people or people with a little knee problem will have much problem climbing those stairs. 10) Quite thin curtains. Heavy, bigger and more curtains needed as the rooms have common balcony. It is due to privacy and prevention of cold. 11) No comode shower/jet inside washrooms. Its a big drawback. 12) Finally..Although GST bill was promised initially I did not yet received the full and final GST bill even after asking for it. I could state the above because we stayed in other hotels also in our whole Spiti trip and we found the above issues very genuine in this hotel.
