Hotel sonamarg palace

I had stayed here with my family and it was great experience. The staff was very nice and made us feel like home. The view from our room was mesmerizing. If you want to experience view with comfort than this is the best place.

Maharashtrian food provided here at this hotel. Hygiene is major concern. Flies on food tables and everywhere. Some foul odour of stale food as soon as you enter the hotel. Didn't feel like eating here. So avoided. Got to know people who had food here had their stomach upset.

Truly a pathetic excuse for a hotel that calls itself a 'palace'. My wife and I had asked them to let us use the washroom because the outside restroom was inaccessible to her due to snow. We were even willing to buy food in exchange for restroom access and later I even offered them 100 RUPEES JUST FOR USING THE WASHROOM!. Firstly, they lied about having any restroom in the hotel premises. Later, when my wife asked how are hotel guests dealing with inadequacy. They kept denying usage of washroom inside premises for no reason. In 2025 every tourist is aware of the fact that restroom access is well within the purview of citizen rights, but they chose to act rude, verbally aggressive and threatening towards my wife, and they called the police on us frivolously. They suddenly became quiet when we asked the policeman to review the CCTV footage for any misdemeanor on our part. Now they have also SHAMELESSLY LIED on my wife's review that I apologized to them. I DID NOT apologize to them and was shocked at their verbal aggression and shouting and felt unsafe in an already tensed region. I have travelled all over this nation but this is truly the worst hotel and I'm pretty sure the 'staff' here don't know what hospitality even means. My wife is a doctor and she doesn't engage in petty squabbles. She is well aware of her rights and everybody else's rights to washroom access as well as accessibility to washrooms in tourist spots.

Amazing place, location was mind blowing , back side river, front view was also amzing unbelievable place , you can't miss this place for stay, staff was so polite and humble, food was amazing at reasonable prices, best place to stay here

The hotel is situated right infront of the point from where the activities for Thajwas glacier starts. Rooms are clean with varied size. Rooms at the back are smaller in size and one may not get enough space to open their luggage. Bathroom is small but clean without any ventilation. Staff is helpful. We felt the heating in the rooms were not enough and when we asked to one of their staff of something can be done then he replied that 'you should have taken the smaller rooms then' ! Heating in the restaurant area was not there so the family members had some hard time having their dinner. During the breakfast they arranged Roti and Aloo sabzi for us which is not part of their menu which was quite commendable.Beds are equipped with electric blanket so one will not feel cold once you are inside bed. Room heaters are switched off at the night by the management and are again switched on at 8 am in the morning. It is a budget hotel and the service and rooms are ok from the price point of view.

We stayed at sonmarg palace hotel on 17th and 18th May2025. Really nice hotel,nice people, location of the hotel is just amazing,view from our room was beautiful.I will recommend everyone to visit Kashmir without any fear .
