Houseboat Donoo Palace

Had a great experience in Kashmir dal lake house boat. Although public disregards the house boat with bad smell and bad experience but i personally had great time in House boat. There was no such smell and had tip top facilities. The dinner was best i had in Srinagar. The caretaker was provided great hospitality. Would highly recommend to have house boat experience in Srinagar.

The experience initially was good. We were welcomed pretty late at night as we had gotten stuck in a jam. The dinner was good. After that it was all donwhill,till it came to a point where we just wanted to leave the place. There was no electricity from 1230 am till the time we left around 1 PM. It was extremely hot inside the houseboat. The bathrooms did not had any toilet paper. Towels looked dirty and old. Breakfast was heart breaking. Temperamental Owner started abusing some guests who had stayed in his houseboat previously in front of my family.

I was not expecting staying in a houseboat would be such thrilling, they have managed everything so nicely in such a small area, big room which give you vibe of flowers around you, washroom and toilet manageed properly, hot water available. View from the boat was mesmerizing, ideal time to have shikara ride is 6:30 to 8 pm in the evening during summer season. You can enjoy sitting in the open area watching dal lake and people enjoying in Shikara. Staff is truly hospitable. dinner on time, typical rural touch of food, breakfast was when we asked for. Room were well lite, clean and decorated with flowers.

Every thing was perfect especially the staff. It was my first time on a boat hotel, I was not sure how am I going to feel about it but at the end I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want to leave. I recommend this beautiful boat to everyone who seeks adventure and pleasure

It is really a nice place to stay in Kashmir, Fantastic view and ambience. The boat is really maintained with unique decoration. Service offered was perfect with well trained staff. Evening on the boat with fantastic view was really fun. I would ask all the travellers to opt this.

I stayed in HB Donoo Palace, Srinagar for 7 days in From 27th May, 2018. It was a wonderful experience with comfortable room, great hospitality and awesome foods. I advice every body to go to this house boat while visiting Srinagar, Kashmir.

We booked Doonoo Palace and they confirmed ....on our day of arrival, they cancelled it and shifted our booking to their houseboat just adjacent , which is not soooo good...We did not like this ... Rooms of Doonoo palace are very nice, we wanted to stay in bcoz 22 yrs ago, we had stayed in the same and wanted to go down our memory lane....Service is very good,rooms are good...Furkan is a good guy, speaks well with visitors, helpful ...place in front of Ghat No .7..Dal gate...

I visited here this summer. If you are going to go to Srinagar you must spend sometime in a houseboat. The rooms are clean, the views are amazing, and the staff treats you like you are royalty. It was an amazing experience, I'd definitely go back.
