Absolutely unpleasant experience while trying to book due to a very unfriendly approach by the property owner with unrealistic terms and conditions.

Location is everything with this place. Literally a minute from the beach on sleepy road in the village of Iddya in Surathkal area. The beach is one of the best around. Fine sand. Expansive. Large shallow area which makes for safe swimming. Some few stalls in short walkable distances for snacks, fruits, coconuts, milk, etc. but no restaurants close by for breakfast or lunch but in the evening the Lantern Cafe opens up. Food ordering is available though from a number of places on the main road. Walk to the main road is about 15mins. Place itself has rooms on ground and 1st floor. Ours was on 1st floor (recommended) with a common kitchen/sitting room. Kitchen has basic amenities: induction plate, some plates, spoons, cups, kettle and microwave. No amenities to cook food but enough to make tea/coffee, reheat food etc. also a fridge. Filtered water was provided in those large 20L jugs with a dispenser. Outside was a nice verandah with chairs and nice views and little breeze too. Our room was a bit small with a queen bed and attached bath. A/C and fan were available. Very comfortable. Some might find the price a bit high for what you get, but this area seems a bit pricier anyhow. No towels provided so bring your own. Some complain about smell or something not working in other reviews. We had no such issues. The place is fine! And the owner was attentive to whatever need we had (we are not needy or demanding however).

5 star for the Location. Had a stay for a day here with my family. It is very close to Iddya beach (which is very clean and less crowded). Can spend lot of time on the beach front and kids will specially enjoy. This property is reasonably priced. 2 star for the service and the rooms. Rooms had some different smell. There is no one to take care of any issues there. We had issues with ACs and lights, the owner came the next morning to fix them. There are few people in the next house who come and clean the property, but they really are of no help. We had a very bitter night experience in the night. There were 7 bachelors in the 1st floor and you can imagine the noise they make. We really can not sleep in the ground floor. If they could hire some care taker/person to be there at property and to listen to our issues, it would be good.

If you are looking for a great time with family just near the beach, this place is unbeatable. It is a large villa set right opposite the beach. All that separates you from the waters is a thin road and a patch of grass with a few trees. The villa has three bedrooms at the ground floor and three at the top. I personally prefer the top floor. One of the bedrooms is sea facing on each floor. I personally love getting up and seeing the sea first thing. The proximity to the waters means we go to the beach several times a day. They have very thought fully created a place to wash your feet etc before you get back in. Kitchen has a functioning though old fridge, some vessels and a gas for the hard working :) This is a home stay so do not expect room service. We ordered all meals from a nearby place called Sadanand and compared to Bangalore we found the place to be very reasonably priced.I will put the menu in the pics. Lastly the balcony overlooking the sea on the first floor is where we spent hours talking and laughing. It may not be five star and it may not be perfect but it still is one of my favourite get aways.

We come here to have a nice time and enjoy but Here we literally went through torture!! Below r the things that r wrong . Towel are not provided (how can anyone not provide towels?? That’s a basic necessity!!) . No water bottles (minimum courtesy) . Hell lot of mosquitoes (we’ve not kept the door open, mosquitoes r coming through bathroom) . Large spiders in the house . Flush knob is not installed . Toilet gun not working . Bathroom untidy ( made me puckish) . Rooms are stinking . Bathroom freshener kept in room (odonil) . Living room is kept at the worst state We had paid a good amount and expect a good treatment in return but this has been a horrible experience!! I repeat Horrible!! The hospitality is at worst! So many things r wrong with this property!! The doors were kept open when we came in!! The owner is not even interested in the business!! Old house with no maintenance! Can’t sleep in night because of mosquitoes torture!! No mosquito coil provided!! Owner knows the situation but dint do anything about it!! Bedsheets are so thin n horrible!! Even if u r dying no one will come to ur help as the owner is not interested in clients!! Literally horrible experience!! If you are not interested in the keeping your clients happy please don’t do this business it brings shame on other Homestay businesses owners!!!

The stay and the beach view was amazing! One drawback is the kitchen utensils are old. We enjoyed the home made food 😋from Curries and Crunchies which is safe during this Corona time! Overall experience was amazing!😍

Instead very poor.The sunset beach view is awesome.This property is badly maintained.Geyser doesn’t produce enough hot water.When u enter the house u clearly understand that it is just patch work the owner has done to make it look good.Hell lot of mousquitos will bite during the night time.Our trip was destroyed by staying here for a night.Not all recommended
