NillWe attended a friend’s wedding at Harsha The Ferns and stayed here for a couple of days. Our overall experience was excellent. The property is beautifully maintained with clean, spacious rooms and all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The staff were extremely polite, helpful, and efficient — always ready to assist with anything we needed. The wedding arrangements and hospitality throughout the event were top-notch, and everything was managed smoothly. The food was delicious with a great variety, and the ambience across the property felt warm and welcoming. It’s a perfect place for both events and a relaxing stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Shivamogga or planning a celebration here!

Nill1 Star for 4 star hotel. Property is good and has potential. Good breakfast. Parking is good - no issues at all. With the current staff and mindset it’s not going to sustainable. In house menu is like star hotel pricey and very choosy. Outside food not allowed is their policy but not mentioned during booking confirmation. 👏 👏 Nobody is going to visit the place, if you explicitly mention outside food N/A. For the events you conduct for marriage I wonder is your chefs cooking for 500plus ? Then event guests should not be roaming in the property, external vendors arranging chairs and random people moving around premises is a threat to in house guests isn’t it ? You won’t be collecting adhar or id for all the visitors anyway. Only these rules apply to in-house guests 🤔 We are not here to pay the money and get dictated, pls. For few plates we waited hours memorable experience for us. Property is located outside city and close to Safari other than that I would not like to comment. Like I previously mentioned property is good, management has to plan better and have dedicated team to manage In house guests. Good luck, thanks Regards Nandagopal Nanda

NillThe hotel offers good facilities and a comfortable ambiance. However, most of the staff appear to be from North India and are not very familiar with the local culture. Some staff members also seemed to display an unfriendly attitude. We had requested an iron box, but it took almost two days for the staff to deliver it to our room. Additionally, when I ordered an onion dosa at the restaurant counter, I waited for nearly an hour — despite multiple follow-ups, the order was never served. Overall, the service quality needs significant improvement. Suggestions for Improvement: Provide customer service and hospitality training to enhance staff behavior, communication, and responsiveness. Strengthen supervision and monitoring to ensure that service standards are consistently maintained.

NillPro’s : Clean property with ample parking both outside and basement. Well maintained pool, has a kids swim area too. They have a gym too. Breakfast was a decent spread & same with in room dining though delicious but have very limited options and we wished some local cuisine to showcase local culture was available. Courteous bell boy, in room dining delivery guy and the security. Con’s : Since it’s the service industry we wished the check in , check out could have been more smoother & faster without the sulking from the front desk staff. We tried calling to get the booking done but the number from the website was not responded. I, would have definitely been a 5 star if not for the cons.

NillWe checked in this hotel after having our dinner here. The room allotted to us was overlooking the pool, and was well appointed. As expected from the hotel of this class and being a 4 star hotel the facilities were top notch. The breakfast buffet was wholesome and variety spread impressed every palate. Kimi, Saniya and Arohan the Manager took great care to ensure that this property surpasses the standards and quality of a 4 star. Hence I rate this with 5 🌟 stars

NillI recently stayed at Hotel Harsha The Fern, Shivamogga with my colleagues, and we had an excellent experience. The service was outstanding, and the staff were always attentive and professional. A special thanks to Kimi at the reception, who took great care of everything during our stay. She was friendly, efficient, and made sure all our requirements were handled smoothly. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was pleasant and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel for both business and leisure stays in Shivamogga!

NillWe just returned from a short trip to Shimoga, and unfortunately, our stay at this property was nothing short of disappointing. To begin with, the only positive I can acknowledge is that most of the staff were courteous and polite — and sadly, that’s where the positives end. When we checked in, we were escorted to our room and our luggage was placed on a broken slab. Once the staff left, we noticed the damage and immediately informed the reception. Instead of addressing the issue, we were asked “Who broke it?” — an unprofessional and unnecessary response. I clarified that it was already broken when we arrived, yet no one took any action thereafter. The next morning, we discovered that the kettle hood was broken, and after struggling for a while, we somehow managed to make it work. When we informed the reception, we were told to “not worry” — a casual and dismissive response that reflected complete lack of ownership. Adding to our frustration, the telephone in our room wasn’t working, forcing me to repeatedly walk to the reception for even basic requests. Things got worse when the team messed up our booking and called us to check out a day early, despite our reservation clearly showing one more night. It took them a while to confirm their mistake, during which one of the staff members became noticeably arrogant in tone. When I asked to speak with the duty manager, I was told they were on leave and was made to explain my grievances to a random staff member, who could do nothing more than replace the broken phone in the room — hardly a solution after multiple lapses. Later that evening, we ordered room service. The food arrived after nearly an hour, even though we were repeatedly told it would be sent “soon.” We later ordered rotis and were informed that the kitchen was about to close, so only rotis could be provided. We agreed and requested that they send it quickly — yet an hour passed, the food never arrived, and our calls to room service went unanswered. To make matters worse, even our request for drinking water was ignored. We had to personally walk to the reception the next morning just to ask for water — something that should be basic and effortless in any hospitality setting. Finally, at the time of checkout, when I asked for an email ID to share my feedback, I was handed a salesperson’s phone number — which seemed more like an intentional deflection than a genuine attempt to hear feedback. Overall, what should have been a relaxing getaway turned into a series of avoidable frustrations and poor service experiences. For a property that positions itself as a reputed destination, the lack of accountability, coordination, and guest care was deeply disappointing. Update - Received a call from Mr. Prakash (who posed to be their F&B manager) on 30/10/25. He did nothing to explain on the issue or why these happened but had the audacity to ask me to remove this review.

NillHad come to the hotel to use electric car charging.we decided to take the buffet for breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful. The kids were cranky but they packed enough food for us. They made fresh pancakes which were not in the buffet too. I really appreciate their attention to details. Thanks to their manager vishal. Will surely come again.
