Ben's Houseboats

We took 2-hour boat ride in the back waters. Had a good time. Ben the owner, was exceptionally generous in letting my mother use the bathroom in his home as she has mobility issues. He showed us the house boat ( 3-bedrooms), we didn't use it this time but certainly plan in the future to stay overnight. There was a wedding celebration going on, and we found out as we were leaving that it was Ben who was getting married! Such a humble guys. We wish the newly weds all the best in life!

Houseboat was nice and clean. Rooms were tidy and beautiful. Staff was well mannered, they served tasty food in lunch and dinner. The ride through the back waters was amazing. Lunch and dinner are cooked based on our wish feels pretty good Boat driver explained all the surroundings in his beautifully broken English.

Boarded the boat at Allerppey. When we arrived we were introduced to the boss, given coconuts to drink from and asked how we would like our food. ( spicy or mild ) There were just two of us on a single bedroom boat. It was spacious and clean. The two guys looking after us were brilliant! Tom the captain talked about the environment and Karan the cook was a star. All the food was Amazing, as was the service. We chose king prawns from the waterside shop and asked Karan if he would cook them with coconut milk, pineapple and peppers, which he really seemed to enjoy doing. All in all, it was a lovely chilling experience with two super guys. We would definitely return

Wonderful experience. We had a good time on the boat in Lake. Boat toured us around the lake for only 3 hours. Then it was docked at a place in the evening, view was very beautiful n mesmerizing sunset. Food was hygienic n tasty. We paid 10000 for couple private booking on valentine's days , so it was a bit expensive .

accommodating and friendly staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel like home. The food was amazing, it's like eating good home cooked meal.Thanks guys. Will definitely come back and recommend them for the Kerala boathouse experience .

Booked through a friend, private houseboat with 2 bedrooms for 8000. They have ample parking space but the road to this place is very narrow.

Had a beautiful view of back waters and stay was pleasant too but it is over priced for what services they provide you. They ask you to buy fish on your own and they will cook it on the boat. The fishes were too expensive. They offer few services at extra cost like massage services, rides on small boats and if we deny to avail it they turn furious. Overall the stay experience and scenary view was good, but the services and behaviour of the staff was not so good.

We have given with one bed room from this multiple bed room house boat in which is room is not well maintained with stinking and stained bathroom and boats were parked in place that had hazards in the walkway.. 1.Staffs on board are not guest friendly, as guests will have to behave friendly with them. 2.Food prepared is extremely spicy not suitable for family, as despite if you advise to cook food less spicy there would be no communication between staffs only when you shout your next meal you may get savvy. 3.We were four of us for lunch and we were served with 3 fish(Karimeen), Captain will caveat before lunch is served that we only got 3 fishes today from supplier (fisherman), Reality: Do not get near kitchen as remaining fishes will be fried and ate by Captain, Cook and Helper I am the witness. 4.Cook will say dinner will be served at 8.30 pm and suddenly at 8:00 pm dinner will be served if you ask to defer serving for 30 minutes Captain will start taking lectures food will be chill we cannot keep open etc..so you have to swallow it on time on each meal for close of kitchen. 5.We had paid for all 4 pax so we should had the extra Cot in the room, but you have to ask Captain for additional Pillow, Cot Cover(you will get one which will have stains and teared), Bedsheet sorry if you ask mind you may be off-boarded from the boat. 6.If you have talent you can connect your device (phone) by yourself to play music etc.. Captain will say here is the TV and Speakers please connect if you want as TV will not play. Only thing we enjoyed is the cannal ride which we payed additional money which is only good experience we had during this one day house boat stay as we were waiting to jump out of the boat when the time was ticking 9:00..
