NillWe wanted a quiet, clean restful place near the beach to just unwind. The Chameleon beach resort was the perfect place. We were surrounded by trees, with the sound of the waves and the sea in our ears all day. The rooms were clean, airy and bright with tasteful decor, obviously freshly washed, crisp sheets and towels. The furniture and set up has that Old World feel. The furniture looks antique and is arranged with a lot of care. The bathrooms are spacious with running hot water, white tiles and huge mirrors. Rosamma aunty cares for the place and is a wonderful person, so accommodating, kind and hospitable. She was so pleasant to be around and made the experience so much nicer for us. The backwaters are at a walkable distance and (if you are able to wake up in time for it), the spectacular sunrise is completely worth it. The beach right in front of the resort is so peaceful, beautiful, clean and accessible just by scaling a little wall. It's like a private beach. We loved this place and will be going back for sure.

NillVery clean rooms. Right in front of the beach and not very crowded. It was exactly what we needed on a vacation. The food was also very good. The host is very friendly.

NillStay is perfect offbeat and is right infant of beach which is kind of private.Food that Rose madam made for us on our trip makes our vacation more beautiful. Property is maintained clean . If you are a pet lover you will even enjoy more with kittens and a dog. I recommend this for people who want to enjoy the silence with nature .

NillI had a thoroughly disappointing experience at this resort. Firstly, the mosquito and centipede infestation made it impossible to enjoy any outdoor activities. Secondly, there was zero privacy, as the owner seemed to have a penchant for hovering around, making us feel constantly surveilled. To add insult to injury, the kitchen was a haven for cat hair and litter, with kittens and dogs freely roaming in and out, leaving a trail of mess behind. Overall, a nightmare of a stay. Avoid at all costs

NillVery bad experience. Booked to stay for 1night but couldn't stay more than 4 hours due to mosquito and centipedes in the toilet. All kitchen and dining area not clean due to cat hair and poo also noticed cat with few kittens in the kitchen. Not recommended this place.

★★★Good, clean house set in a nice garden facing the access road and the protective sea wall. Very friendly and helpful staff, pity about the location, it is more than remote! Rooms are clean and adequately appointed, a/c and ceiling fans with en-suite bathrooms. Breakfast and an evening meal are offered. Supper can be veg or non-veg, the latter commands a small premium. Local family cooking with eating at a communal table - works well to integrate the punters. ||For those seeking solitude, this fits the bill but to do anything apart from sitting at the house or walking 70m along the sea wall to the beginning of the sandy beach, requires transportation. Tuk tuks are available on call, with drivers who prefer to take the long route up to Cherai rather than use the direct but heavily potholed coastal "road", which naturally costs x3 or x4 the price. You have been warned! There is no beach immediately in front of the house, but a short walk along the seawall brings you to the beginnings of the lower end of sandy Cherai Beach. In line with the rest of India, regrettably plastic bottles and rubbish is not collected and is left to mount up. ||The tranquility is broken by x5 daily muezzin calls from the next-door mosque, which some may regard adds to the local colour and is not really intrusive during the day, however the dawn call could disturb the slumber of light sleeping holiday-makers.||Amateurishly friendly run establishment, so if you seek unsophistication, this delivers.

★★★★★This nice clean and cosy place is located just beside the sea. One can just sit in the balcony and enjoy the beauty of the waves crashing on the rocks. The host Shahidul is super-friendly and will make you feel at home. Also, he is a great cook..!! I would definitely recommend everyone to at least have one dinner at the lodge. Overall, this place is worth every penny!
