This was our first trip to India, and only had a few days. Forte Kochi Hotel was a beautiful little resort situated in a great area for checking out the few sites the town has to offer. The morning village tour was a nice way to learn about the area, and the evening music at dinner was enjoyable. The buffet breakfast had a ton of options and we enjoyed trying a bit of everything. Staff are friendly, and the bed was comfortable. Jijo was a great driver during our time there, and made us feel at ease. The complimentary afternoon tea was nice to sample local snacks, although I do think their chai was too heavy in milk and not enough tea, or maybe not brewed long enough when we tasted the tea. |I think the area is very touristy and the tour people and shop owners are incredibly pushy, but that is not a reflection on the hotel itself just an observation of the area. We were there only half a day when we arrived, and stayed just until breakfast the next day, but this was enough for us to see most of what was there. I wouldn’t stay longer in Kochi unless you plan day trips or want a tour of the Jewish area or shopping at the Lulu center that is a bit further away. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in Fort Kochi.

Such a wonderful hotel, would highly recommend!! The hotel itself is beautiful, both interior (the rooms and bar) and the outside area with the pool! There’s afternoon tea and coffee and snacks which was yummy! The staff were lovely, in particular Krishnadas, he was so friendly and extremely helpful with a few requests we had. It’s also a fab location on princess street, lots of shops and cafes near by. Would 100% stay here again!!!

This hotel is located in the tourist quarter of Fort Cochin in Kerala. It’s an old building that has been renovated and expanded and there are some 30 rooms which themselves are decent sized and well appointed with an air conditioner, tea and coffee service and they give 2 L of water a day, the toiletries are of good quality. You get breakfast as part of the package and it is extremely lavish. The staff is very courteous and prompt to respond to your requirements and requests. If I had a grouse it was against the lighting in the hotel, which at night can be a little dim, though. Maybe that’s their attempt to create an atmosphere. The beach is close by, but you can’t see or hear it. There are Places to walk in Fort Cochin near the hotel and you won’t get bored. The boardwalk along the beach is close by also and is a pleasant stroll early morning or evening. The breakfast spread like I said earlier is extremely lavish and there are certain items that you can order . The dining menu is also pretty decent. strangely even though the hotel is owned by the Paul John group that makes extremely good single malt whiskey, no whiskey, no gin or any other hard spirits are on sale. You can buy beer or wine, and I wonder if that’s to do with Kerala‘s liquor policy.

A fabulous hotel a walk away from the Chinese Fishing nets. We were greeted at the door by the reception staff and from that moment inwards we could not fault their service. Every member of staff we interacted with was well groomed and so polite and helpful. The food in the restaurant for breakfast spoiled us there was everything you could think of and the chef always came to ask of everything was ok after each meal. He even organised for me to observe Dosa being made in the kitchen- nothing was too much trouble. we took an evening by the pool and Sony our waitress was very attentive and the food faultless. You should take a massage from the lovely masseur whose name starts with an S ( sorry we can’t remember) she has eight years experience and we took the recuperation massage and slept like babies afterwards. This hotel has set the bar high for the rest of the Hotels we will visit in Kerala.
