Chungath Resort

Chugath Resort is one of the best kept secrets near Thangassery Bus Terminal. It has six double rooms with attached toilets cum bathrooms. Each bathroom is well tiled and is fixed a modern cascade shower head and a clean wash basin. The entrance is gated. However, there is a phone number on display easily visible from the road to call the caretaker. There is a sit-out (patio) at the entrance. There are stairs on the side or parking for two vehicles that lead to the upper deck which is nicely covered and can be used for multipurpose. The rooms are equally spread out of either side. The access to the front room is via a common living room that has a comfort sofa and a television connection. The access to the middle rooms is via a common dining area. There is a corridor through the living room that connects the last two roo.s and open up to the backyard. There is a water tank, a well tiled open cooking area with a shed, and an exquisite view of the Arabian sea. My experience of staying here for nearly a week was worth it. The white calming noise of sea waves rocking 10 feet from the small sit out is an experience of a life-time. You can watch the sun set in the distant horizon everyday without getting bored. It will earn five stars when 1. Air-conditioning is fitted in all rooms (currently ceiling fans). 2. A small kitchenette with basic cooking facility is added. 3. A vehicle on call for local transportation is attached. 4. Regular housekeeping with proper waste disposal is provided. 5. The paint rust is cured and front and back yard is cleaned off falling leaves at least weekly.
