Marari Babu Homestay

Really loved my stay here - very close to the beach, immaculately clean room with a lovely front porch on which you can also enjoy the family's lovely cooked dinner if you so choose (the newly opened fish restaurant opposite the church is really good, but so is the cooking here - choices, choices...) as well as the yummy breakfast. A little issue with the shower was quickly resolved, otherwise the room including very comfortable mattresses was really fine - A/C can be booked if needed, otherwise a large fan in the room as well as on the porch are probably enough for some (like me). Babu and his wife are very helpful and kind and make your stay as nice as can be. Highly recommend staying here!

Stayed for 2 nights. After the first night they moved us to another room with no hot water and which smelled like a train bathroom. This made us not extend our stay and leave. Food, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious. The neighbors burn their garbage and plastics so the air quality is pretty bad (they do it in the morning and evening). Overall not a great experience.

This is one of the best authentic home stays we have ever stayed. The rooms are spacious and clean, the garden is stunningly beautiful, the beach is 2 minutes away and best of all, the couple that hosts are the sweetest people. Babu arranged our airport transfer and our backwaters boat trip and drive us there in his Tuk tuk. Rani is an excellent cook and prepared delicious breakfast. We also ate dinner there every night, made to order as there’s no menu. We just told her what we fancied in the morning and she made it. And the bill at the end was much much cheaper than what we anticipated! I have never been so sad to leave a place like I was sad to leave Babu marari Homestay. We’ll be back.

One of the best Homestay experiences ever. Well maintained clean rooms and washrooms with plenty of space to relax. The delicious, authentic Kerala food cooked by Rani(our beautiful host) adds to the joy. Located close to the beach, this is an ideal Homestay if u are in Alappuzha.

Excellent homestay experience. Stayed as family with Kids. Very friendly hosts. The rooms are very clean and the location is nice and safe. The host is an excellent cook, absolutely worth eating there also for lunch and dinner. The beach is ony a 2 min walk away.

Peaceful environment to stick on a long vacation! Initially we decided to stay for 2 days but after reaching there we changed the decision for a week. Spacious rooms, "home food there never departed us from our home" and affordable as well. The way Babu and his wife treat people will bring them back again and again.
