Motel Aaram - Vadakara

We visited KTDC Aahaar restaurant at Vadakara for breakfast with family. The menu was quite limited and the taste of the food didn’t really meet our expectations. However, the place was clean and had ample parking space, which was convenient for travelers. Overall, it’s a basic stopover spot but could definitely improve on food variety and taste.

It is a nice place for a quick hangout with your friends, we normally go to the bar where they serve beer and wine. Recently we tried the chatti choru It is a platter served with meat, fish and egg along with rice, The first time we tried it, we kind of liked it. Today the fish fry served with it was not that good it was over cooked and dry. The fish curry was nice, but the quantity of chicken was a little too much, at least for me.

I used to have breakfast from this place whenever I go this side just because of my yummy childhood memories. I happened had breakfast from this place very long back, and was very very yummy. So once I growned up, I went to the same place seeking same yummy food. It was not all disappointing. Food was very tasty this time as well. So it became one my routine pit stops enroute to hometown or on return journey. But on my latest trip, ie today I ordered two glasses of milk for my children. Maximum 100 ml. They charged me ₹40 per glass for the same. I couldn't digest that price at all. I didn't go for an argument, because it was a computerized bill and I know that staff has no role in deciding the price. Apart from that the price was reasonable for other items. The staff was very courteous. The location is very good, food is much tasty, ample parking space. But rarely I could find other customers at that place. I don't know whether someone intentionally doing something against this good restaurant. I feel that the staff is not much bothered about these aspects. I knew about this place just because of my past experience. There is no proper location boards placed along the highway to indicate about this restaurant. Last time ( one year back) I gave them suggestions on the same. But nothing happened. There is no way a new customer can identify this location unless it is known to him already. I think that is not a healthy way of doing business. Being a government enterprise, I have a special feeling about such establishments If someone responsible sees this review, may take some positive actions to rectify the shortcomings to make it as most promising ventures of Kerala government. Its a good and neat restaurent. Good parking space and right by yhe highway. Firstly , If u are in a hurry I do not recomend to stop here. Skip this place. The staffs were really good. Restaurent was really clean. They prepare items only once we order. Tried masala dosa , uthappam, porota , egg masala team and coffee. All the item which we ordered were good. The only drawback is they only prepare the food once we order it. So we had 4 items we received it only one after the other, which was really bad as all of us were starving and we could not have the food together. Food was good. But the waiting was too much. And they do not have small portion of non veg items. When asked , they only have chicken or beef as full plate, which to my understanding is too much for a single or 2 individuals. Not sure on why the hotel has this kind of a menu item.

It’s a Restaurant cum Beer/wine parlour situated at , The place Karimpana paalam at Vadakara, Kozhikode district,, it’s very close to the National highway, and easily accessible.. the environment is very good inside the restaurant as well as at the beer parlour, It’s owned by the Tourism development corporation, government of Kerala.. A good place to dine with and have your beer/wine drink

Yesterday my guest had a nightmare stay. The Bed was full of bugs. The plus point is that the staff members are cordial ,helpful and friendly. The location is very good . Need urgent renovation and upkeep of the premises.

Nice food...but waiting time is a bit high... Also they start preparing food only after taking our order..so they deliver the dishes one by one as they are getting prepared.. that means don't expect to deliver all dishes you ordered at the same time... If you have some time to spend surely you can visit ...

Ktdc used be our enroute refreshment stop , and for past 5-6 yrs was a satisfied customer till recently . We visted the outlet recently and found that the quality of items had taken a significant toll . We were provided with dosa made of old batter so much so that we could not eat a bit . Only thing that was good was puri masala. This is not the kind of food that we used to get at this outlet . So sorry to see the current condition of this hotel.
