★★★★We had a fantastic time at this hotel. It was a change in the itinerary from their sister hotel in khajuraho, and only cost a few dollars more, but location and facilities were hugely better. Probably because this is a new hotel there were not very many people staying here, mostly our group. That gave us personalised service and lots of attention. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with tables and chairs and the like, though the bathroom was a bit iffy. It had a bath but the water would not get hot. This is common in India as the power is so dodgy.||||After dinner the stuff put on music from an mp3 through speakers and danced with us for hours, and we had a really good time. The village in Basari was amazing and authentic to India rural and caste lifestyle. A really refreshing and enjoyable time.

★★★★★We stayed New Years Eve in this amazing summer palace! The rooms are unique in every way. The public areas are many , we had access to a large terrace outside the room. The breakfast venue was sublime on the upper terrace -the breakfast itself was delicious. The NYE was a wild Bollywood dance party, with dinner and beverages. Nicky the head guy took us on a fantastic tour of the village -very un touristy and informative, he and an offsider took us on a boat trip to the lake palace. This very exotic marigold hotel is a way out of Khajuraho but this remoteness has very distinct advantages. Brilliant unforgettable experience!||Only issue for comfort hounds -hot water was hit and miss! But seriously who cares!

★★★★We stayed here on our way to Khajuraho and found it to be a very nice place. You are but 30 minutes from Khajuraho so you may want to just head there directly, there is not much to see in this village. It does provide a good example of the Indian caste system but outside of that it's pretty quiet. No wifi and no English speaking tv channels so bring a book! The restaurant is very nice and the meals can be served in your room at no extra charge. The power did shut off every hour and we lost the tv and a/c for 5 minute each time!

★★★★Ideal for a trip to Dhubela or Khajuraho this Heritage Resort is in one half of the palace, which is still inhabited by the descendants of the former rulers. But beware: not many tourists come here and you have to be prepared accordingly for not immediately functioning comfort such as electricity, water and food. But rest assured: the staff is making every effort to solve problems ... and after a longer while, they really get there. We recommend the Maharaja Suite.

★★★★★The Hameer Garni is a unique place to stay in India, there's not many times you can stay in a palace! My room even had a balcony.||Food was really good and the menu is quite extensive. ||Staff were very attentive and helpful, we even got to look around the local village with them.||(There's no wifi but that makes it easier to relax)

★★It appears that no one has reviewed this hotel since 2016 - which probably reflects its current state and lack of guests.||||On paper this looks like a unique accommodation option – in reality it currently falls well short of advertised expectations, but it does have tremendous potential.||The drawcard here is that the palace is open to explore – the views from the roof top are great. The village round the palace is a poor but happy place – but be prepared to turn a blind eye to the rubbish in the lake (it isn’t as romantic as shown in the publicity shots!). Our room had a balcony that overlooked the street - great for people watching!||||We arrived to find the palace door open, no reception, and workmen varnishing every piece of wood they could find (you can imagine the smell). When we found someone they seemed genuinely surprised that anyone had been booked to stay that night. ||||It was a fun night’s stay (perhaps somewhat adventurous) but the main disappointment was that the palace was less a functioning hotel and more a work site. What we experienced didn’t match what was described both by out agent (Nivalink) or the hotel’s own website. In the room there was no Tea/Coffee Maker, Wi-Fi Internet, In-room Menu, or any hot water!! Add to that the sheets were paper thin and torn (we had to ask for extra sheets).||The bathroom may have had the advertised shower/bathtub (cold) but there were no towel tails or hooks to hang things.||||The web sites describe 3 restaurants and a bar. There was just one restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast. Certainly no restaurant on the lake (accessed by a couple of rusty pedalos). We didn’t find a pool room. And what bight have been the bar was empty.||||When we inquired in advance about the serving of dinner we were told the cost, and asked to send a deposit. This we did. But when we ate dinner it was a la carte and we were presented with a bill afterwards (for much less than our deposit). This we refused to pay, and eventually after long phone calls it was sorted out. However when we checked-out there was no mention of refunding the excess deposit – this was a bit dishonest – though the amounts involved were, to us, small.||||One day this hotel will perhaps once again be a good option - but for now it is probably too much of an adventure for most tourists.||||||(Review by inbound independent tourists traveling with Nivalink)

★★★★Most impressive part is the rooms and public areas of the hotel . Jal palace was unexpected it is only one of its kind.better than the hotels in khujraho .one can stay here and cover all the places near khujraho nd panna .basari village itself is mesmerizing nd can show u the real rural India.this hotel has another property in khujraho "siddarth" which is famaus for its tingling taste of food.||
