ओंकारेश्वर

On the banks of river Narmada, just on the shore is the rudrapuri or mahadev ghat. Just below the main omkareshwar temple is this ghat which drives us into a sacred bliss. The mahadev ghat is one of the oldest and ancient ghats and the only ghat on the other side of river Narmada. People perform their nitya karma and rituals for elders here and it is known to be very sacred. It seems that the one who offers pinda pradana here for their elders doesn't fall into the cycle of rebirth. The ghat is one of the cleanest and well maintained ghats. Anyways the place is unguarded and one needs to be very careful while having a holy dip in these ghats.
