Deepak Hotel omkareshwar

Avoid this place at all cost. Visited the place for Omkareshwar temple. When I arrived at the bus station, the guy in the auto said he owns the place and had the hotel logo on his Auto. Told me it’s R/s 800. Got there, wasn’t a great room but I wasn’t too fussed because my intentions were to be constantly outside visiting temples etc and to be honest I was too tired carrying a 25kg backpack. I carry a sleeping bag with me for hotels like this because the sheets were not clean, and I didn’t dare use the air con with all the dust that gathered on it. Decided to stay an extra day because the area was lovely and because I was already settled in. A young lad that works there told me to pay tomorrow morning. Next day, no one to be seen, eventually got a bang on my door requesting me to leave as it’s 12pm, I told him no one was here to take my payment for an extra day, and so I paid him. On the same night, I got someone banging on my door at 10pm, baring in mind am a solo traveller from the UK, and I can hear multiple voices outside whilst on the phone to my mum. I hung up, extremely angry, opened the door to confront the person who was banging on my door this late only to see it’s the hotel staff along with other guys (am guessing other guest but didn’t know at the time). They immediately apologised because they were unsure whether I paid or not. Am on a pilgrim tour, so I called myself down and let it be. The following day, I found the two guys from last night and told them never do this with me again because you’re truly testing my patience. I explained can you imagine if my mum heard the commotion? How worried and scared she would have been. They apologised numerous times and said it won’t happen again. I told them, I was planning on leaving today but I might stay another night and warned them to behave before I lose my temper with them, they were pleased to hear that I was willing to stay another night and promised they wouldn’t cause any further issues. I went to pay them for the extra night when I noticed they were in dispute with a few guys that were staying with them. I gave the guy R/s 1000 and he told me he will get me my change. I left them to it and went back to my room only to receive a knock at the door immediately. The hotel guy tells me it’s r/s 1000 for the night, I asked since when, he goes the r/s200 is for day stay and r/s800 for night stay. That was it, I lost all patience with those amateurs lol! I told him my bags are packed, give me my r/s1000 because am leaving for another hotel now. Then I realised the other guys were in dispute with the hotel for the very same reason. When the hotel guy realised I was serious, he said not to worry about it, I told him no, your hotel and it’s service has been ridiculous but I only stayed because I was tired, settled, and enjoyed this village, but now it’s a matter of principle. They gave me my R/s 1000 back and I left for a hotel called Shri Radhe Krishna which I found by chance. Their room was 100 times better, charged me R/s 1000 per night which I was happy to pay. Stayed an extra 2 days because honestly that village is awesome. Am hoping after completing the 12 Jyoterlinga yatra, I might visit this village again because it was one of the peaceful places I’ve visited so far. Advice to the hotel staff, for R/s200 you lost R/s1600, do the math!

Horrible experience. Mukesh, the man who followed us(3) in the market to come to his hotel, hiked the prices double as soon as we went in. Bluffed about 24 hr service etc. Reality - Rooms on 2nd floor. No lift. No geyser. No house keeping. Only 1 fan which either runs on high or off, can't slow it down. Very rude behavior. Demanded money in advance and then didn't show up when needed or called. Gave 1 towel and 1 medimix between 3 of us. Food at the restaurant on ground floor was good.
