Experience with Ujjain’s Hotels and Hospitality Industry--- Based on my visits to Ujjain, I’ve observed that the hospitality industry, especially hotels priced under ₹3000 per night, is still maturing in terms of customer service and business practices. While this is not a generalization of all hotels, there is a noticeable gap in civic sense, such as how to communicate effectively with customers and build long-term relationships. 2. Review of Hotel Shreegopal Considering the above, Hotel Shreegopal is a passable option for a short 24-hour stay. It offers decent amenities like clean rooms, good mattresses, and a hygienic bathroom, which is sufficient for someone with minimal expectations, such as a comfortable overnight stay to complete a puja. 3. Incident Highlight To illustrate, I had an incident after checking out where I requested to store my luggage for an hour. Initially, the reception staff (an older gentleman) agreed and assured me that they had a secure storage room. However, upon my return, a different person at the reception intervened and, instead of allowing the staff to assist me, instructed them to focus on other tasks while I managed my luggage myself. This interaction reflected a lack of professionalism and a misunderstanding of basic customer service ethics. 4. Recommendation Hotel Shreegopal is suitable for a short stay but falls short if your visit exceeds 24 hours. For longer stays or higher expectations in service, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at this time (as of December 2024). Hopefully, with constructive feedback like this, the hotel staff can refine their practices and improve the overall guest experience in the future.

We had a great stay at this hotel in Ujjain. Pawan Ji, the host, was very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is good for families, with clean, basic AC rooms that are hygienic and comfortable (not fancy). They also provide parking, which is very useful in Ujjain. The location is excellent, just a 5-minute auto ride to the Mahakal Temple.

Mr. Pawan was really helpful. This was our first visit to Ujjain and he guided us in every way possible. Room was clean and fresh. Overall service is excellent.
