Hotel Lake View Matheran

The hotel is at a 20 minute walk from main Matheran market area (Matheran Toy Train station). The rooms are basic, but at Rs 1500 per room per night, you get what you pay for. If you can ignore the rooms, then it’s a delight staying there. The service was extremely good and you were always greeted with a smile. The food (pure vegetarian) tasted really good and they would stay around while you are eating, in case you require anything. Felt more like staying at a relative’s place rather than a hotel. Some of the major view points are at a walking distance (if you can walk for 5-10km a day like we could). Or you just take horse-back ride. If I again visit Matheran, I will definitely again with them!

Very nice experience with family. The service of hotel staff is very good. Always smile on staff face. Food is so nice. Feels like home stay. You can definitely stay here. Rooms are average but service and food is unmatchable.

This hotel is quite away from the main market, but it is very peaceful. I have stayed here multiple times over the years whenever we visit Matheran. The hotel is very well maintained by Mr. Tiwari and his family, who are very humble. The prices vary slightly depending on the season, but they always offer reasonable rates. This isn’t a luxury hotel, but I find it homely. They cook food if you inform them in advance. It is very good and better than the restaurant food around. Hot water for bathing is provided in the mornings. This place has a Wi-Fi connection, although power and internet reliability may be an issue, especially during the monsoon season, as it is a hill station.

The owner is too friendly and the hotel is operated by a family.. such a lovely people. They are vegetarian so they will offer you a veg meal.. people were supportive.. however just a small issue.. the hotel is too far from Matheran Railway station and it's on a remote side. I walked for 30 minutes from the station to reach here... And if you want to explore the Market area, you have to walk back 30 minutes but it is risky at night time... Most peaceful stay I've had at Matheran, away from the crowds and close to two nice view points. The food served here is pure vegetarian, but Bharat Dhaba next to the property makes many delicacies if one has wider preferences. I am surely visiting Lake View again, for one specific reason, the host's hospitality and the entire family's kindness in everything they did. Thank you!

Friendly and helpful staff and manager Avanish tiwari is very kind gentlemen.. The room was clean and comfortable ...Good food options available there ... You can have lunch and dinner like your homemade. I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you Mr. Avanish ji for your kind accommodation

Always Remember that, try to reach Matheran early Morning 7-8 am or before in summer vacation seasons Or even if in off season / September as there are just few train trips shedule, to get train tickets ( Matheran to aman lodge) to enjoy toy train, otherwise tourist will have to walk /track ahead long upto the market hotels or nearby hotels, or by arranging horse riding, hand pulling cart which is costlier ( INR/RS 1000 -1200,1500) as there is no vehicle zone ahead, all this will effect to lose time and in remaining time, tourist explore few View Points only at first day in remaining time, WITH family and friends one can stay at Hotel Lake View here safely, the HLV managing family members are very polite and qualified too is the key point, here at hotel lake view feels like at home and safest one for all, even though it's bit away from the Market hotels, we feel very peaceful and pleasant atmosphere, Foggy, rainy here in the afternoon itself when visited at the end of the September 2023.( Ganesh Visarjan/ Anant chaturdashi day) and from it's adjacent a corner road way upto sharlet lake is just 5 minutes easy walking road track even for seniors, and thereafter explore few other nearby view point which are at walking distance by those who can, Dinner at Hotel lake view was fresh,hot,simple, delightful which prepared at home kitchen and served by their family members at dining hall. One caution few monkeys may be there at property so be aware of them, keep your, clothes,bags, Snack food pkts and valuables inside the closed room. The hotel is located far from the market area where you have multiple options for stay. But the best thing about this place is the room service, no. of points/ site seeing is very near from this place, peace in this premises and best this is the food quality and test. you will definitely love the food test here. it's just Awesome.
