Gujarat Bhavan Hotel, Matheran

Located in peaceful surrounding away from market hustle & bustle. Food is good with decent varieties but basis last reviews I was expecting more. Taste wise good.Staff is excellent to respond & resolve your issues. Cleanliness is a concern in rooms & dinning area. Also most of children playing area slides are rusted & can hurt kids. Also more flexibility from the Management will be appreciated by guests. Rest nice option for vegetarian lovers.

Visited Matheran from 21st Sept to 25th Sept'24 & as always we had booked our stay with the Gujrat Bhavan Hotel (GBH)- one of the best hotels of the quaint & serene hill station.||     Matheran is best visited during the period from Oct to May and so first time visitors should choose anywhere in between these months. But being at this lovely hill station during the rains has its own charm. The rainfall brings along dense fog, lush greenery, cool breeze & the unique earthly scent of moist red soil. We can experience a new lease of life in the pleasant climate, refreshing atmosphere and the wild ravishing forest landscape.||     Our 4 nights stay at the resort was wrapped with luxury & comfort. The rooms are neat & spacious and equipped with modern amenities such as AC, intercom, tea coffee maker and a private verandah. The staff were incredibly welcoming & helpful. ||     A notable & unique feature of this hotel is that it has Geysers fitted in all the bathrooms which ensures 24 hours of running hot water - something which no other resort at Matheran offers. Moreover, GBH also offers 24hrs full power back up which is made possible by its high capacity power generator.||    GBH is well known for its lip smacking Gujrati & Jain food. Breakfast is healthly & the Lunch & Dinners are lavish with Chaat, Punjabi as well as Chinese cusines. The food is freshly made & served with a lot of love- all under the guidance of Raju Maharaj (head chef).||    The hotel area is vast and it boasts of a large swimming pool, baby pool, jacuzzi, music system, kids play area along with various indoor & outdoor games options.||     Another major advantage is that GBH is centrally located. The chief attractions of Matheran- Charlotte Lake, Echo Point & the Main Market are all located close to the resort at walking distance of 10-15 mins.||    All in all we had a memorable stay at Gujrat Bhavan Hotel & we thoroughly enjoyed its warm hospitality and  sumptuous food. We highly recommend staying at GBH for its delicious food, 4 star amenities & an overall great experience- at very reasonable & affordable rates as compared to other top hotels in Matheran.

Was a very pleasant stay. Great food and personal attention by Rajubhai and his team in the dining hall. Efficient house keeping staff. Well maintained swimming pool and garden.||Very good property. Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends.

Good hotel with hygienic vegetarian foods. Vegetarian lovers can prefer this hotel. Nice reception staff. Good staffs especially Kitchen Chef (who approached all the guests during meal service and asked about the feedback about the meals and took responsibility for good customer service) also housekeeping staffs are nice. Rooms filled with water kettle-hot, coffee and tea powder and bisleri bottles.

In Gujarat Bhavan Hotel we had unforgettable experience for 3 days recently with its delightful vegetarian food and vibrant environment. It has authentic Gujarati thalis, the meals are a feast of flavors, served with warmth by the restaurant staff of the hotel. The hotel has serene ambiance it is well-maintained. The best time to visit is during the off-season to avoid crowds and truly savor the peaceful surroundings as well as it is very affording during this period. With attentive service, a beautiful pool, and lush greenery, Gujarat Bhavan Hotel is a rejuvenating place to stay in Matheran. we were a group of 14 people and appreciated the hospitality of its staff. Highly recommended!

I had visited Gujarat Bhavan recently and I must say… excellent service. The food was good and the services were just awesome. I was there with my mother who was on wheel chair and the staff was so co-operative to take her from my room to the dining hall. They would be extremely vigilant. Once we finish our food, I did not even need to call them. They would come on their own to drop my mother back to the room.

We spent 3 nights 28th. June to 1st. July this year. We wish to place on record that we enjoyed every moment of our stay. The property is fairly large with a swimming pool and kids play ground.The whole property is kept clean and well maintained. There is a restaurant. The food provided is very wholesome and made according to taste and a large number of dishes. We really enjoyed our dinning there.

Good service and rooms were okay. But according to pricing rooms can be much better and cleaner. Too much dust on the floor and toilet flooring was soapy and slippery. Food was okay.
