So I'll be very honest in the review. There are two units under one particular trust. One is akaal residency and the other one is akaal heights. We took the room in akaal heights since they claimed they were better in services and cleanliness. The only best thing here is the location. It is walking distance from the Darbar Sahib (golden temple). The way is through langar hall( back side of gurudwara) The rooms were not as clean as the owner claimed and moreover they didn't even accept it. The sheets, top sheets, almirahs nothing was clean. The bathroom was clean but there is no hot water available. Now coming to the services, hospitality was okay like they are available on one call they won't even offer you a free water bottle in case you're expecting. Everything is paid. You can order food. They will bring it from the outside but a genuine advice, eat from the restaurants outside since they will bring such bad food that you won't even want to eat any of it and they are going to charge you hefty amounts for the same. Also, if you complain about anything, they are not going to admit and one of the lady who attends the call might behave rudely. Do talk about AC if you plan to go because they control the AC service. You might need to call them to turn it on. Tea will be available from 8 am and check out time is 12 sharp. Empty the rooms asap before they start calling you at 11:50 am. Also, please bring your cutlery and food items. The coffee mugs given to you are not clean. I hope it will help.

This hotel is stone's throw away from Golden Temple Campus. Exit from the Baba Atal Rai Gurudwara gate of Golden Temple & walk few steps & you are at this Hotel. Very convenient to the devotees who are willing for darshan of Palki sahib in early morning hours. Hotel staff is excellent & very courteous towards each n every guest. Rooms are little bit small but for cleanliness they deserve full marks. Breakfast service is little bit slow & they need to improve on it. The breakfast had limited options but what ever they served was good in taste. Only thing they need to improve in breakfast that they should serve little more quantity in buffet because the serving vassels were too small to fullfill the desire of large group. Also the hotel owner is very courteous to each guest & taken care of every requirement personally.

We booked through Make My Trip and stayed there on 5 to 7-Oct-2017. Awesome location. Very close to the Golden Temple. Rooms are not big but very nice. Bathrooms are clean and have modern amenities. Stuffs are very good.||||They have a restaurant where they provide foods from outside. So options are less and time required to deliver is more. They have arranged car for border visit and airport drop. Overall good experience and recommendable.

I have stayed less than 6 hours in this hotel. So can't comment about service. Rooms are quite small and kind of suffocating. Strangely they have kept the non-ac rooms at the top floor. Location is very good and both Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) and Jallianwalabagh are walking distance. This is not far from railway station as well. But the hotel does not have a lift service. So in case you are going with elderly person, this may not be a good choice. I will just mention one incidence for reader's and good/bad should be judged by reader only. I reached at 7 am whereas check-in time was 11. Before making the booking I wanted to confirm what will happen when I will be there by early morning and I was being told to make a booking of triple standard bedroom so that I can have an early check-in. And listening to that, although we were only 2 people who won't be staying even till evening, I made that booking. However, the scene was different when we reached there. Firstly, I was being refused to get any room prior to scheduled check-in time. Then the man at the counter asked me to go for tour to Golden Temple (it is just 300 metres) and Jalianwalabagh and comeback at that time. However we came back around 9 A.M. as we were unable to continue after overnight train journey. We asked if we can use the common washroom to get fresh. After both of us used the common washroom and was thinking about what to do next, (around 930), the guy at the counter strangely allotted me a room. Please note, as stated earlier, this was my experience and may not be in line with others.

Hospitality is our tradition is their tag line , however I have had the exact opposite experience. I had booked this hotel for my elderly parents and when they reached, the manager mr Sonu there acted extremely rudely with them and treated them in the worst possible manner..He also started threatening them by calling the security and misbehaving with them when they requested him to help them the luggage. With this sort of cheap mentality, I am really surprised Mr Sonu is the manager at this place. It looked like a family friendly hotel but turned out to be a nightmare. It was quite a shock for me as this is the rudest and low gutter mentality that I have had experienced in many years of travelling. In a country where we are trying to achive better rights and status for elderly, treating any senior citizen like this is the most backward and insulting attitude. Even when we left the place Sonu was being aggressive and called on a few staff and security as to threaten us. Very disappointed as this is Amritsar and considered one of the safest cities to travel. Please do not consider staying at this place there are a whole lot of better options than this place managed by cheap, backward, illiterate like managing staff. And yes everything was captured on CCTV if anyone demands proof or something like that

If you want to spent entire time visiting the 'Golden Temple' then this is a best hotel. From this hotel, Golden Temple is at walking distance of 1-2 mins. ||||Hotel provides value for money and staff is helpful. In our case, Power had gone and staff was courteous enough to provide hot water bucket. Also, we checked out at 12PM instead of 11AM, but Hotel staff didn't charged us for that.. so that was really appreciating.||||The only reason for giving 4 star instead of 5 star is that we felt that staff needs to little prompt in providing service, but overall we had a great stay. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable

Very disappointed with the rooms and rooms service. As u can see the pics..Rooms are very dirty, Toilets are not working properly. Manager is not listening and resolving the problems. She said this is what we have..Of u like then ok else leave the hotel. Also problem in the bathroom and toilet, water sometimes come and sometimes not. Main thing is that the TVs have Setup box but not recharged. Many Many complaints... Rest the choice is yours..
