OYO Hotel Silk Route Residency

The location is perfect. The people here are really good, especially the female staff. They are very helpful and cooperative. Few things weren't very appealing. During our stay, the bathroom door got locked and inspite of mentioning 24 hr service, the receptionist wasn't available at night. Secondly the complimentary breakfast isn't buffet system here. Overall the stay was good and the Gangtok staff very friendly.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a package so had a very little choice of hotel The hotel itself is good and quaint. The location is good. Its not on the main road but a little away on a steep slope. One has to walk up the slope to access the main road since taxis may not always be available. ||The rooms are smallish and are decently maintained. The bed is large but the sheets may not be clean all the time. The housekeeping can be better. having said the boys and girls on housekeeping themselves are very very good. The toilet is smallish and have a ventilator opening in the next room's toilet. So expect loud noise.||the restaurant is not good. Very limited choice in breakfast and just about average taste in dinner. The restaurant has seen better days and needs to be upgraded soon. ||The guys at the reception are very helpful and nice. full marks to them.||Will I stay here again? No. at this price better hotels are available in Gangtok.

I was on leisure trip with family and visited this hotel. Rooms are too small that it can not accommodate an extra bed and you try to place an extra bed you need to remove one of the furniture. they provide the smallest size of extra bed so if you are more than 2 please do not plan to stay here. Similarly Bathrooms are very small in size and not maintained properly. Morning tea took 1 hour to come and that too ice cold. At check out the bill is offered for the same tea and when it was informed to Manager at Reception Sharma Brothers, they say it was prepared on fire how can it be cold. They do not know courtesy at all. Finally I had to check out from this place and checked-in to another hotel. Please think twice before you consider this hotel. Food preparation was also very bad, in dinner everything comes with red gravy whatever you order. Needs lot of improvements.

Located about 1 km from MG Road but people have trouble locating it. But once you find it should not be a problem. A road with steep slope leads to the hotel. The hotel is just like any other 2 star property. The staff there is helping and warm. My room had a view of construction in the hotel premises which wasn't good. The taxis have a tough time getting to the hotel. I wouldn't recommend having food at the place though. The bed sheets are clean and so is the washroom. Overall a good experience.

Such a pleasant stay here, we booked for 4 nights but unfortunately we delayed for checkin as we were travelling from guwahati. It was hectic and we were worried if it gets cancelled , what were we going to do. But this hotel is really incredibly kind and welcoming. They didnt cancel out booking and even gave us some discount. They know how to treat tourist and that’s awesome. Thankyou Silk Route

We were due to stay here for three nights but checked out after the first as the room was dirty. There was so much dirty in the fan that it sprayed around the room when you turned it on, we had re-wash the cups in the rooms ourselves and the paint on the walls was stained with what looks like old coffee. The sheets were also dirty and although a lot of places we stayed had stained sheets the sheets here were also dirty. ||The staff were not helpful except in the restaurant for breakfast which was also fine. ||The building is nice and the location is great but this place needs a good clean, a re-paint and more helpful staff.

we loved the food of this hotel more than the food of other famous hotels. We had breakfast buffet daily which was so good that we did not miss it even for one day. Rooms were small but tidy. They helped us putting extra beddings on our request, chargeable of course.

Prime location in Upper Arithang, just a few mins walk to M.G.Marg. Rooms were spacious and clean with all amenities one desires for. The prompt and cordial hospitality shown to guests are just excellent. Mr. Anup Dhar and Sudip Chettri had shown great gestures and their advises come handy while planning for sight seeing and related conveyance.
