Hotel The Moksham

Everybody working at the Moksham is so nice and open hearted, especially the owner and the receptionist. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. The rooms are really clean and hot water is not an issue. I have read comments about the „hike up the hill“ - I see that differently. It’s a short walk and no problem at all. At night you hear dogs barking, but that’s India :)

I really enjoyed my stay here at this hostel/ hotel for 4 nights in upper Tapovan area. It was exactly what I was looking for. Best quiet hostel in Tapovan for solo female traveler imo. It’s away from the hustle and bustle but definitely within a short walking distance (10 min and less) from a ton of cute cafes, restaurants, and the main road of Tapovan. Good location. Super safe. They also make food if you want to eat at the hostel. They don’t have public fridge for guests, but when I had leftovers I asked and they let me use the fridge to store. They have filtered water jug. A nice balcony and a screen door to let fresh air into the room. Good AC and hot water shower. Very clean hostel. The staff was really helpful to help me with making arrangements for my train. I felt like they went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. If you’re looking for something with lots of party vibes, lots of activities, and to meet a lot of other travelers, I wouldn’t stay here. If you’re looking for something low-key, safe, restful, this is the place to be.

Stayed one night at the Moksham and it was great. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, with closets, drawers and hooks. Bathroom is clean and big, and does not smell bad like most other hotel bathrooms in this budget. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Rishikesh, it's far away enough from the main roads to not be noisy at night but close enough to be walking distance from restaurants and cafes.

Lovely people here and amazing Indian food. Came as a female solo traveller on my first trip to India and felt very safe and well looked after here. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for continuing to feed me throughout my yoga course! I'm sure I'll be back ❤️

The location is fantastic. It's right at the top of Tapovan, so everything is a downhill walk to get to, it's far away from the noisy main road, and the views from the top are great. The rooms are clean and designed really well; the lighting gives it a luxurious look and feel. The ambience of the place is very relaxed, the food is delicious, and best of all there is a yoga studio on the top floor overlooking Rishikesh. It is a locally run business with a very friendly owner. Highly recommended.

We found this place at our last day and were kind of sad that we could only stay one night. This place is lovely: little but nice, clean and light rooms. You find a calm and comfy seating area on each floor and can order food&drinks the whole day. We had a Good Night sleep here. Thanks for having us!

Hi everyone :) Just between us: I can highly recommend this hotel! I was looking for a simple, clean room during a yoga training and came across the Mokhsham Hotel. It was truly a dream :) The rooms are absolutely beautiful and very, very clean. It's located right in the center, yet it's very quiet there. I had a balcony and AC. The staff is really super nice, friendly, and always ready to help with anything. The reception is staffed around the clock. Every day, there’s fresh, clean water, and they also have a menu where you can order delicious food, teas, and other things. The entire place is lovingly decorated. The owner, Deepak, was always attentive, helping me with taxis, luggage, and always in a good mood. I’ll definitely be checking in there again 1001%! As a solo female traveler, I felt very comfortable and, most importantly, very safe :) Best regards from Graz, Austria

I really love this place. I tried 4 other hotels and hostels in Rishikesh/Topovan area, and this was my favorite! -The rooms are clean -It is close to everything you need -The staff is very kind -The cafe inside makes great food at a good price I especially love the lighting in the rooms. They installed “recessed lighting” so you are not staring into a lightbulb. Also, there is lighting under the bed! Which is very relaxing when you are winding down at night. Lastly, there is a huge yoga studio upstairs! Which is great to meditate and watch the sunrise in the morning or do yoga. The studio is not used for any classes, so it is totally free to use all day. 10/10 would recommend this place. I will be back again!
