I am a bit late with my review, but was going through a few old pics of my Agra visit and remembered that I hadnt yet posted my review.||The first time we visited in Decxember 2010, the place ws great. 2 yrs later (January 2013), the place was a total disappointment. In the freezing winters there was no provision for a heater or even a hot water kettle. Everytime we felt like drinking some hot water we had to call room service. ||We were given a room on the 2nd floor and this place has no lift. As my mother who suffers from knee pain was travelling with me, we requested for a room on the lower floor but they flatly refused to change.||The generator is bloody noisy & you can feel the whole room vibrate. We couldn't sleep the whole night and also woke up with nasty headaches.||Food was ok, room clean & service was also ok, but the generator drove me crazy. I'm not gonna book this place again for sure.

It is a one of the best Homestay in Agra. Location is walkable to TAJMAHAL and 1 Km to Agra fort. I was stayed there with family and loved it. Kids were so happy as they feel like home away home.

Staff were most helpful and friendly. They even gave us an early breakfast at 6.15 on our departure. Rooms were of good size and adequately furnished. Good wifi. ||Rooms in need of painting. Out of the way with no restaurants in the area, but a cheap tuk-tuk ride will get you where you want to go.||With the low price, we were pleased with our stay.

I stayed here for a night with my friends. Booked two rooms. We got 2 ground floor rooms.||||Observations as below.||||1) Water soaked wall! They smelled like vomit!||2) Lots of dirt in the room.||3) Washrooms were in a pathetic condition.||4) Water in the washroom was insanely salty!||5) The beds were stinking.||6) Not friendly people.||||Highly, highly discourage anyone checking into this hotel/house-turned-into-a-hotel. Better spend the night on the streets!||||Hope it helps someone.

We arrived at night & were ushered into the room along the side alleyway (unlit due to power cuts). I could've cried. The room was gloomy with mould growing over the walls. The toilet was broken & the shower was disgusting. The bed sheets were dirty & damp and the whole bed smelt of drains (I dread to think what we were sleeping on...). Couldn't wait to get out of this homestay, and escape from Agra completely! Awful

We stayed there for one night. ||The service was okay, however not very outstanding. We woke up in the morning and had water on about one third of the floor of our room, luckily we stored our camera equipment and computers not on the ground. No idea where that water came from.||AC was not working at all. Luckily the fan did a good job.|| We told the guys at the checkout about that and he seemed to know about that problem.

The Taj Home-stay is a success for one very good reason, the Manager;A man with impeccable credentials. His multi-lingual,low key manner and focus on 100% Guest satisfaction is such a refreshing departure from the ordinary. The only negative in this very warm and user-friendly Hotel is the Owner;a man of very diminutive stature with a grating falsetto voice and a propensity to sit in the lobby and hold loud discussion with Hindi speaking guests and supposedly drop-in mates of his,he is the turd on the curd,so to speak. As a very well travelled person with a forgiving nature when it comes to the hinderances that highly motivated hotel staff must endure;e.g. poor infrastructure, every Tom,Deep, and Ganesh wanting a tip for performong the most menial task I give this flop-house 7 out of 10 and ask the Owner to pay this marvellous manager twice as much and take his blab-fests outdoors.

A dirty, scruffy dump.||I rejected the first room offered. They showed me a second..... Damp stained towels, cement mended bath.|| We left and found somewhere much, much better......clean, closer to the Taj and only 20 rupees more.
