De-Laila Houseboats by Sterling

We stayed in the De Laila Houseboat from 17/3/25 to 24/3/25 as a member of Sterling Resorts. The design, ambience and the upkeep of the boat was superb answering to the culture and integrating architectrual excellence of the Kashmiris' handicraft. Sitting & Dinning rooms are traditionally decorated in Kashmiri style. Bath rooms are clean and hygienic. We would like to mention that people manning and managing the Boat are courteous, polite and extraordinarily attentive to the specific needs of guests like us (both 70+) We are highly impressed by two staff members who need special mention. 1. Mr. Tarik is a very responsible, courteous and attentive person. He is out to provide all comfort to the guests despite his festive month of Ramzaan. 2. Mohammad Abdulla, the chef who ensures to provide delicious food keeping in view the different tastes of guests. He maintains variety. Say in our case, he has given us different kind of breakfast without repetition in our 7 days stay. Unforgetable memories of the lifetime which provide unique experience to guests like us. Pretty and cosy houseboat with a large deck where one can enjoy the sun and the natural beauty of the lake and its surrounding mountains. Extraordinary experience at Delaila Houseboat . Caretaker Tariq is quite helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Washroom was hygienic and smelling fresh. No foul smell or anything. Fluffy pillow and mattress. Nice location for houseboat also . Totally recommended 👍

Horrible experience. The manager Rouf Nabi is the worst kind of human being which can exist. He is a sociopath who lies at his own convenience. Just because he wanted us to shift to another boat kept making all lie and when pushed back became abusive. My mother and I had to file complaint with authorities and suddenly he changed his whole story. We were made to leave boat at night due to his behavior and manner which made us feel unsafe to be around him and his staff. Would not recommend this place to anyone and one can see consistent review by everyone about the manager and his abusive behavior. They also cut power for hours in morning and evening and in our case threatened to cut water if we insisted on staying.

Excellent experience. Bring your own food, their offerings are very bad. Rooms are cozy and the boat is very clean and well maintained.
