Our stay at this beautiful farmhouse was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth by Ajay and his family, making us feel instantly at home. The room we stayed in was clean, feeling as fresh and comfortable as if it were brand new. The attention to detail in every aspect of the property was evident. Each corner was thoughtfully designed, contributing to the pleasant and serene atmosphere. One of the highlights was the personal tour of the farm. We enjoyed knowing about the different spices and fruits grown there, and they even allowed us to sample them, adding a delightful and authentic touch to our experience. The homemade food was absolutely delicious, providing hearty, flavorful meals that were a highlight of our stay. Throughout our visit, the hosts were always available and attentive to any queries, ensuring we had everything we needed. Their hospitality truly made all the difference. As we left, they gave us such a warm goodbye, making us feel as though we were leaving home. If you're looking for a peaceful stay that connects you to nature, with great comfort and a warm family touch, this place is highly recommended.

It was a very picturesque place. Privileged to stay in 100 year old mud house . Beautiful location overlooking mountains and most interesting was the in house spice plantation tour we got from Ajay’s Dad. His entire family was too sweet , greeted us like a family member. Gave us a house tour. Short of words for the hospitality they have offered. Highly recommended for stay in Munnar😊

What a beautiful place. A great place to stay close to Munnar. For everyone, the stay is very comfortable. Washrooms are in pristine condition, cleanliness is taken care of very well, the location is the best I’ve seen around. The hosts are just genuinely good people. I would recommend everyone to stay there 10/10. We were surrounded by spice gardens, please buy spices from there. They’ll give you a tour of the farm and take you around, give you a local experience if that’s what you want. Also, they have a cute chonky dog you can play with too

Our four-day stay at CALM SHACK was an absolute delight from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by AJAY who made us feel like part of their family. The hospitality was exceptional, and we immediately felt at ease in the tranquil surroundings. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the incredible homemade food. Especially the puttu with kadala curry was a masterpiece.The puttu was perfectly steamed, light, and fluffy, while the kadala curry was rich and flavorful with just the right blend of spices. It was a culinary experience we won't soon forget. Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere at the farm stay was incredibly welcoming and relaxing. We enjoyed exploring the lush grounds,learning about sustainable farming practices from Ajay Overall, our time at CALM SHACK was unforgettable. The combination of warm hospitality, delicious food (especially the puttu with kadala curry!), and peaceful surroundings made it a perfect getaway. We can't wait to return and highly recommend this farm stay to anyone seeking a genuine and enriching experience.

It was a very pleasant and peaceful experience at Calm Shack. My friends and I stayed there just for a few days, but enjoyed every minute of it! We were warmly welcomed by Ajay and his family. The hospitality shown was very sweet. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a stay at Munnar!

We visited Calm Shack in July end, during monsoon. The stay was amazing from all aspects (a) The location - It is a peaceful place amidst the gardens , with the view of the mountains from the rooms. Our rooms also had a seating area (just outside) - where we could just sit & enjoy the nature. The rooms were spacious and were kept clean. We really loved the interiors also. However, the distance to Munnar is around 45 mins-1hr. The weather here is very pleasant, whereas Munnar would be a bit cooler (like a typical hill station). (b) The host, Ajay and his family, were so welcoming & nice. For almost everything, they went out of their way, to help us. We really loved the home food they prepared for us, especially the Garlic rice & Biryani were super amazing. (c) At the end of the trip, we had a visit to their garden & spice plantation. It was the cherry on the cake. We tried a lot of new varities of fruits and understood a bit about spice plantation (Thanks to Ajay). Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thanks to Ajay & family for hosting us. To end, me and my friends, we have stayed across a lot of AirBnb properties in our various vacations, Calm Shack would be one of the top rated.

My family and I had a wonderful stay with Ajay and his family at Calm Shack in July. They are absolutely wonderful hosts who will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable throughout your stay. The food from their kitchen is delicious. The stay is within the premises of their home and spice garden. It was a treat for us to learn so much about how they grow the spices and fruits. We got to try the Queen of Fruits — Mangosteen which we had never tasted earlier, saw nutmeg trees bearing fruit, saw beautiful birds visit while sitting amidst the rain in the garden and watching the clouds pass by through the mountains. Munnar Town is about an hour away and Ajay and his family are always happy to help arrange for transport or sometimes even drive us around like long lost friends. We hope to be back soon to this tranquil experience!
