If you are birder than one of the ideal place to stay though with limitation of space but well compensated by hospitality and overwhelming enthusiasm to help the guest. Food is home cooked and delicious.They deploy one of the best guides and make sure your birding trip is successful.The location of this place is unique with Periyar river at one side and in middle of rubber plantations.Special Shout out for Praveen Thomas,Eldhose,Sanu Sasi and Jayan.

Edens Perch resort was a letdown. The rooms are extremely congested and lack attached bathrooms. But the worst part was the insect infestation - I found bugs and insects in my bed! The swimming pool was also dirty and unhygienic. Definitely not recommended."

Awesome place built into the wilderness. Complete privacy for a small group. Well maintained. Got a pool. Home cooked delicious food.

A bird guide par excellence, Praveen Thomas runs a beautiful homestay on the banks of the Periyar. We (group of six) stayed here for four nights, and Praveen guided two of us for birdwatching throughout. He is a great guide and knows so much about the landscape! For our parents, who are not birders, Praveen arranged local taxis for them to visit nearby spots for cultural tourism and boat rides. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at this property. I would highly recommend it to everyone (birders or not), who are visiting Thattekad.

"Unless Edens Perch addresses its major issues, I would advise against staying here. The congested rooms, insect infestation (bugs and insects in bed!), and dirty swimming pool water make for a terrible experience."
