Rains Valley Resort Mankulam

This location is at Mankulam, around thirty km from Munnar. From Munnar, it takes about 1.5 hours to get here. Google Maps directed me to take the route that passes through Letchmi Tea Estate in order to get to this resort from Munnar. This road is extremely narrow and difficult to drive because of larger vehicles approaching from the opposite direction. We discovered a different, easier-to-drive route via Kallar the following day. If you are not a local and have made a reservation at this resort, ensure that you will be arriving at the resort via Kallar and not through Letchmi Tea Estate. The meal is wonderful, but you have to order it in advance. The resort's location offers a nice view and is surrounded by mountains. There's a stream that runs through the resort; we went in the summer, so there wasn't much of a stream, but when it rains, it gets really good, it must be a fun spot to go with kids and stuff. Mr. Keerthi Kumar arrange a jeep(extra charge) for our sightseeing; in mountainous areas, it's best to hire a private vehicle as local drivers are familiar with the routes and anticipate heavy traffic on weekends. On a Saturday, we were stranded in traffic for over three hours. The traffic was far terrible than in Bangalore.

To begin with, if you're expecting a place to relax and rejoice this is not your place. The manager/ partner is not the man from hospitality background and is very rude. The food is blant, made without any passion or heart. Service is absolutely pathetic. Rooms and bathrooms are decent, but that's the only good thing about our stay. Lastly the location is a difficult terrain to access, not advisable for families, but even for adventure seekers there's hardly anything to feed the adrenaline rush except a clear water stream down the property infested with a million leeches. Overall, the price charged, 12k/day per villa, was without doubt exorbitant for absolutely lousy experience.

Nice. The rooms were provided with amenities including a toothpaste, glasses and plates. The views from the balcony are amazing. But some problems were there like the lack of food items here. Food will be provided only if you reserve food early. Another reason is that there are only like three hotels in the town. The staff promised us to increase the services. The thing is that if you have to get a coffee in the morning you may have to walk like 50 metres to get it. But overall ok. Another fault was that the plastics from the matress was not removed so it was uncomfortable. Hot water is available except for one cabin.

Recently stayed here for two days and it's a great experience staying close to the nature. Keerthi and his team are very friendly and kind in arranging everything you need to make your vacation more memorable 🥰🥰🥰. I definitely recommend to stay with friends and family.

This place had the WORST service i have experienced ever in my life. The resort is not completed and is not a resort to be honest. It’s a set of villas on the hill and thats all. We were rooms where the entrance was extremely unsafe and high risk of falling down. No provision of helping with the luggage till the rooms. The geysers dont work unless someone comes and helps with it. The service is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. The food is the worst. We were 13 people and we are told that there’s no food. We reached at 6pm as its very far from Munnar and we are told that we have to bring food before hand and we are late so not much options left. He offered us 1 chicken dish and rice. For vegetarians only black dal is available. After pursuing a lot he agreed to make maggi for us but said he’ll make all at once and he will leave at 8pm. When asked for tea and coffee he says he doesn’t have milk. The manager was telling us problems as if he is paying is for staying there. He gave us 16 packets of cooked maggie for 13 people but only 1 spoon and fork. When I asked for more he said all other guests have taken the spoons and forks. How is that my problem?! They are NOT equipped to work even at 50% capacity. We had blocked rooms for us but still those were given away to other guests and we got other rooms. In the morning breakfast was given in a basket and we were supposed to eat at villa 1 and then pass the leftover to villa 2 and they would pass over the remaining to villa 3 ( absolutely ridiculous).

Great experience, we are enjoyed lot, this new year we are celebrating with rains valley resort and special thanks with the manager Mr. Keerthikumar..

Awesome experience ,,nice food and jeep safari was amazing especially in forest off road resort and location was ultimate epic for this location and yummy food must experience jeep safari and waterfalls was superb
