I personally enjoyed the stay. The best thing about the ambiance of the property, truly in the lap of the nature. Love is oozing out from every corner of the property. The clouds, chirping of the birds and sounds of crickets gives a worthy feel. The property has its own cultivation. They also sells their own brand of cardamom. However, the preference may vary with individual preferences, as the location is little deeper from the noisy markets. So people who love crowds can give it a miss. For those who prefers serenity and tranquility, it is definitely recommended. The rooms were clean but the bed was queen size difficult to adjust with my child. The service was good, support staffs were courteous. The food was excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makayiram Retreat. The place was peaceful and provided us with all the amenities. The staffs were very friendly. The food was delicious and prepared according to our requirements. We would be glad to visit this place again, and would definitely recommend it to all, especially peaceful nature lovers.

Awesome peaceful place for a staycation. There are indoor and outdoor games to have fun. Trail walk amidst the cardamom estate provides a good bird and orchids watching experience. Though the menu was narrow, the food was authentic. Baked veggies would be the only items I regretted ordering. The team is so cool and very attentive. Excellent service, clean and great ambience. Highly recommend this perfect property to unwind and destress yourself. Advise to call them and take their suggestions on the routes to reach the place. We reached via a highly challenging steeply inclined route. If it was not for Harrier we would have gotten stuck midway. Alternative less challenging route was advised by the team on our way back.

Exceptional Stay Amidst Nature's Charm My recent stay at Makayiram Retreat in Munnar was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Munnar. The serene ambiance of the hotel, coupled with the picturesque views of lush greenery, made for a truly rejuvenating experience. One of the highlights of my stay was the delectable food served at the hotel's restaurant. Each meal was a culinary delight, with a diverse menu featuring local specialties and international cuisine. The chefs truly outdid themselves, catering to every palate with utmost care and attention to detail. Moreover, the climate in Munnar was okayish during my visit, with refreshing cool breezes and mild temperatures adding to the overall charm of the destination. It provided the ideal backdrop for outdoor activities like trekking and sightseeing. Overall, I can't recommend Makayiram Retreat enough for anyone visiting Munnar. The combination of excellent staff behavior, delicious food, comfortable rooms, and idyllic climate makes it a top-notch choice for a memorable getaway. I can't wait to return!

Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to relax within nature. As soon as we arrived we received such a warm welcome, with hospitality that continued throughout our two night stay. The variety and quality of food was excellent, with attentive staff. The restaurant was also a nice place to relax in the evening playing various games. During the days, we relaxed in the grounds and also walked around the local tea plantations. I can’t single out just one member of staff, because everyone truly went over and above what was expected to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We loved hearing the history of the grounds and local area from all the staff.

Added review in response to the retreats reply to our stay experience; "To add on the response by the retreat that they provided the necessary aid to us is completely wrong. To that extent they did not even bother to come over and check after we had called the reception post the walk. This just goes to say and validate that the managing team is not in sync with realities and less informed. I think it's a futile exercise to report feedback with such teams. Never expected that they will misquote the help that never was done. Let me inform again it was not a leech bite something I told them when called for help. The high rangers in this retreat are somewhat indifferent to facts. Will never refer this place to anyone for misquoting of facts. Ideally a senior functionary should have verified the reality by calling us instead of going on filtered information from their team. This is exactly why we mentioned, hospitality tenets seem to be lacking and hope they cover vital gaps, I guess 1 star is what we can give". We stayed at Makayiram for 4n/5d in May recently. Not much really to write about in terms of pros based on our experience, except that the location is tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of the town. But would believe there would be many other properties around this retreat who may be able to offer the same or better. It's a recently pitched resort, but somehow felt it lacks in many areas required for superior guest experience. A lot to be desired from the core team running it in terms of overall planning, guest initiatives and ensuring value add. However, must say the cleaning staff, pantry boys make up for gaps to some extent by being on their toes and remain helpful. Just a few examples of ; their breakfast options are repetitive everyday unless not told to change. The food too is nowhere felt to be close to authentic or unique claimed by some previous reviews. In fact some of the veg dinner options we tried were below par and had to leave them halfway. Not sure if they have stocking issues or something else. The kitchen and culinary promise needs leap improvements. Overall if you are around this place and want to take a day off to experience a diff concept, think of giving this place a short try. The core team hopefully remains open to learn quickly from standard and new practices in the hospitality segment and makes genuine attempts to maintain things, improve overall offerings, bring more experience in the team and look at using their location advantage as just one among the many others to delight customers. They need to get their positioning much better. If you are with kids for more than 2 days, they are gonna get bored. There is easily much scope to add fun activities within, events etc.

This is 8.5Km from central City. Nice place to stay with families and friends. The persons over there are kind enough to support requirements. The restaurant is very nice with its ambience and the staff are so kind and ready to cook and serve your request based on that day menu and availability. The day when I went was too hot due to summer and the fan in the room wasn't sufficient enough for ventilation and for sleep is the only concern we faced, hopefully they should get some alternate arrangements to it for more comfort.

Really loved the fantastic serene Makayiram Retreat.. Enjoyed staying for two nights.. Experienced the depth of Silence which is hard to get in most of the other resorts .. As this resort is zero congestion place with the very old tall trees around and so well done with the minutest detailing of things. Birds give a sweet musical retreat too for the guests. Nonetheless the staff with their excellent service rendering has even added to the comfort stay. Food is also excellent with the milk supply from their own farm. So we are rest assured about the fine quality buttermilk and curd available there. Must visit this place for sure.. To enjoy the most beautiful resort in Munnar
