The Sanctum Spring Beach Resort

The location of the property is too good. Very near to the North cliff walking pavement, easy to spot. The staff is super friendly , helpful and kind. Pool was well kept. Rooms were also very pretty, clean and cozy. Bathroom was well maintained although not fancy or contemporary. It is an old style hotel, well maintained . I got the corner room in 1st floor which had an excellent view of both the beach horizon as well as the pool. All rooms have balconies & are front facing. Food was decent, cooked on order basis only. Limited menu but decent. Good for solo female travellers with a mid budget as well.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The location was perfect for sightseeing, right in the heart of the city. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and came with incredibly comfortable king beds. A special shout-out to the front desk team who made us feel at home from the moment we checked in. The morning breakfast buffet had an amazing variety of fresh options. Will definitely choose this hotel again!"

The room was spacious, clean, and neatly maintained. The staff were always helpful, very prompt, and genuinely down-to-earth. Also, I would highly recommend opting for the breakfast—they prepare a very good, fresh, and light breakfast. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience.

We were initially satisfied with the hotel rooms and view. However the bike rental service that the hotel provides is a complete sham, we have been to varkala before stayed near the south cliff and dint face any issue with the bike rental service provided by our hotel ,however this time our trip was completely spoiled at the end because of the experience we had. We recommend not to avail The bike rental service provider “cliff moto” from the hotel it was a mistake we made. The scooters they provided had multiple issues like brake wasn’t working , indicator wasn’t working they were not in a very good condition unless you ride it ,it is not possible to understand the issues. Despite this we were charged 800rs per day for each scooty and 3k deposit. Since we had only 1day to explore the place we dint negotiate or searched for a better service provider. On the day of check out we faced an extremely intimidating and harsh behaviour for the same service provider who charged us 5k for a small damage caused because of the brake failure where we could have faced serious injuries. They had 0 consideration for the poor quality scooty that they had provided and were threatening us constantly, the behaviour was absolutely disgusting. We had a train to catch in an hour so we gave them the price they were demanding. Our mistake was not to return the bikes immediately when we were facing the issues , we dint want to waste the day on that so managed with those vehicles. The hotel had absolutely zero consideration for the problems that we were facing. There are very nice people in varkala but be aware of the scammers here. Nobody is going to support you or understand your problem.

The balcony view and the service was excellent. When I got injured in the pool they immediately helped me out with their medi kit. This will be my go to resort if I am planning to visit Varkala again. One of the best places to stay, the beach railway station and the restaurants are easily accessible. Thanks a ton! I would highly recommend this place if you are planning to come with family.
