★★★★★Me, my wife and two children (8 and 10) stayed here for 10 days. It was perfect. Close to all the restaurant, shops and hussel and bussel of the north cliffs at varkala but set back just enough to have a totally peaceful retreat. With hammocks to laze around in in the sunny gardens and basic but comfortable rooms with small porches and fans. The owner and staff were very friendly and helped us whenever we asked with whatever they could. For us it was a perfect location, as I have said it was quiet but close to the cliff experience but it is also only a short walk to black beach and beyond were you can have a much quieter and peaceful beach time compared to varkala main beach (which is also great and walking distance).|All in all great value for money, friendly and highly recommend.|The best review of all, I think, is that if we were to go back to varkala we would want to stay there.|Thanks Savithri

NillStayed here for 2 nights and had a very pleasant experience. The property is calm, well maintained, and extremely neat and clean. It has a relaxed vibe that goes well with Varkala’s overall atmosphere. Location is excellent—hardly a 2-minute walk to the cliff. There is no direct beach access, but everything around is easily reachable. Breakfast is served between 9–10 AM, which is a bit late, but acceptable considering the laid-back nature of the place. Overall, a peaceful and comfortable stay.

NillI am writing this out of sheer rage. As a woman traveling with elderly in-laws, another lady, and my friend's 18-month-old toddler, the way our family was treated at Savithri Inn was not just unprofessional—it was downright predatory and inhumane. After a peaceful road trip driving all the way from Bangalore, this place single-handedly ruined our peace of mind. We booked this stay over the phone, clearly telling them we had an infant and elderly parents arriving late. What did we walk into? One broken AC room, and rooms so infested with mosquitoes that the poor baby's skin was covered in red, painful welts within five minutes of stepping inside! When my husband called the owner at midnight for something as basic as mosquito refill bottles—which they failed to keep ready—this man had the absolute nerve to scream at him over the phone. He didn't just refuse; he threw a complete temper tantrum like an unhinged lunatic, shouting at us to "get out right now" in the dead of night! Who kicks out women, a helpless baby, and senior citizens at midnight into an unfamiliar town?! If your precious sleep is so fragile that basic guest requests send you into a rage, shut down your damn homestay and stop taking people's money! You have no business being in hospitality. To add insult to injury, this cheap man actually tried to steal a chunk of our money under the label of a "service charge" after throwing us out on the road! Throwing a family out at 12:30 AM is harassment, not a service. It was only when we threatened legal action, he whimpered and returned our full refund. Ladies and mothers, take my warning: DO NOT stay here. This owner is an aggressive, arrogant man who has zero respect for women, children, or elders. He is an absolute disgrace, and I wouldn't let my worst enemy step foot in this terrible place.

NillOh my god! No it’s not a good review guys. The name bamboo cottage is so over rated, I would say it was a coop. We hardly stayed there for a few hours, noise pollution and unhygienic. We literally packed and ran. We would not recommend this place at all. Spend more and get your moneys worth.

NillThis property includes several independent cottages. The property is located about 3 minutes walk from the cliff path and about 5 minutes from the black sand beach. They do not have a restaurant but there are many restaurants within 3 minutes walking distance. The only reason I have tasted it 4 stars rather than 5 is because our stay there was construction happening outside our room and we couldn't use the hammocks in the garden because of the noise and dust from the construction. Hopefully this will be fine soon.
