Gurguria Nature Camp, Similipal

Incredible place to visit. All the staffs are well behaved and friendly, specially Rajkumar , deserves special mention. Situated amid lush green hilly forest and pine trees, the resort offers breathtaking view of the Khoiri river and the valley. The floating clouds kiss the tops of the hills during monsoon . You can have that view from the Santali Cottage there. Only solar powered electricity is available there. No mobile network is available too. N. B-1.Only BSNL connection works from a single spot there, that too from a feature phone(not from smart phone). 2.You must have the forest department permission to go there, which is situated inside the core area of tiger reserve. 3.Vehicles with good ground clearance is allowed inside the forest.

Excellent place to rejuvenate yourself from the humdrum city life ! Entry: From Kalikaprasad Gate, 11km to Gurguria Nature Camp. In my visit my family and I halted in Khaira Basa - 1 and it is worth mention that the room was absolutely fabulous with some good interiors. One can enjoy the silence and stillness of the woods during evening time. Cycle is available on request to visit the adjoining forest trails. Biking in the woods is a different breathtaking sensation all together!! Now comes the food. The ShGs and the locals of Gurguria village mainly are in charge of the kitchen. Staple menu is provided. Remember it's a "Nature" camp not a resturant were you can order whatever you wish to. Tentative menu of the day: Complimentary morning tea Breakfast: Puri, Sabji, Boiled egg (sometimes during season time Nov-Feb, poha is made) Lunch: Rice, Dal, Bhaji, One Sabji, Fish/Egg, Papai Dinner: Rice/Chapati, One Sabji, Desi Chicken Curry But one drawback is there. The work force is not that strong, you have to patient and cooperative with them.

Camp location is 20 km in deep forest from road. Camp is very beautiful and scenic. location is very good you can find in morning a lots of variety Birds in Campsite also you can seen flying squirrel. Camp cooking staff and service staff are very good and cooperative. Room leanness is really appreciable for Cottage and coast started from 4000 and above. if you want to stay here you should need a private vehicle to reach there. camp food quality and taste really amazing you will definitely enjoy but we can't seen any tiger in forest.

Must go for nature lovers... Full detoxification...Very good staffs. Healthy food by canteen staff. Less masala, less oil, organic vegetables makes the food awesome. I like Uski waterfall more than Barehipani waterfall.

Out of the world experience. Must visit place for nature lovers. Accommodation is little pricey given the means of getting things inside a forest. A good place for unwinding and rejuvenating. Well maintained rooms and hospitable staff. Only point to mention is, since this is located inside the forest, there'll be no network. And if travelling by personal vehicle, please make sure, the ground clearance is more than 180 mm otherwise your vehicle won't be allowed inside

Lovely experience in the lap of nature. This is the oldest of the nature camps of Simlipal and the only one to have a pine forest. In winter, deers, bears and often leopards come to the forest. It is a bird watchers paradise due to the variety of species in the woods. Additionally, there is Khairi river flowing nearby which is breathtaking. We stayed close to the pine trees in the pine villa. The rooms are big, clean and have essential amenities available. The staff are genuine and very cooperative. Their behaviour will win your heart. The food is also very nice. Our driver bhaiya and guide bhaiya were also very very helpful. The only downside is, there is zero network throughout simlipal. However, you will get network coverage in Barehipani viewpoint and jassipur. Overall, a tremendous experience.
