I would give minus stars if that option existed. Worst decision ever. Staying at Khama Ghani Resort, Jaisalmer was the biggest mistake of our trip. This place is extremely overhyped, poorly managed, and not worth the money at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. The rooms were unclean, poorly maintained, and far from what is shown in the pictures. Basic hygiene was missing, and the overall condition of the property felt neglected. The staff was unprofessional and unresponsive. Any request took forever, and some were completely ignored. Hospitality, which Rajasthan is known for, was totally absent here. The food was another major letdown — limited options, average taste, and definitely not worth the price charged. For a resort claiming to offer a cultural desert experience, everything felt forced, low quality, and badly organized. The ambience did not feel peaceful or premium at all. Instead of enjoying Jaisalmer, we spent most of the time feeling frustrated with the poor services. I honestly regret choosing this place and would strongly advise travelers to avoid Khama Ghani Resort. There are far better resorts in Jaisalmer that actually value guests and deliver what they promise. Save your money and your trip — do not stay here.

It was a horrible experience. It’s a joke to call this place a resort. I think MakeMyTrip is equally responsible to list and market such a bad place to stay in Jaiselmer. Please don’t get fooled by the heavy discounted rate, reducing the nightly rate from Rs 49000 to Rs 4000 or 5000 per night. It’s a scam run by both MMT and the property itself. We booked a family cottage with AC. After checking onsite, we were given our booked type room after checking 3 different rooms. Most of the listed amenities on the MMT site were missing. AC hardly worked and cooled the room. Bathroom was so dirty. Room wall curtain coverings were dirty. Bedding was very poor quality. No WiFi. TV was there, but we were told it doesn’t work. Food was of very poor quality. Entertainment was mostly loud music and some basic performances by the local artists. No door locks and no safes. Do not go by the property pics on the MMT. They all look good, but in reality it’s a very badly run poor quality stay.

My experience at Khamma Ghani Resort was very disappointing and it did not match the expectations of a 4-star property in any way. When we arrived in the afternoon, despite having booked two AC tents, we were initially offered non-AC tents. After some discussion, the staff offered us an AC room instead, but it was not a proper tent as booked. It was a tent-like structure and they gave us one large room instead of the two separate units we had reserved. The condition of the room was very poor. It was not properly cleaned and there was a strong unpleasant smell from the bedsheets, blankets, and pillows. There were many mosquitoes and flies in the room. It also seemed that the previous guests had been drinking and smoking inside, as the smell was very noticeable when we entered. The bathroom condition was even worse. Basic amenities like soap, shampoo, and towels were not provided initially and were only given after requesting. The taps and faucets were dirty, and the bathroom tiles looked like they had not been cleaned for a long time. There was no proper lock for the room. The AC remote was missing and there was no button to switch off the AC. When we asked the staff, they said it was automatic and could not be turned off. Dinner was included in the package, but unfortunately the food quality was very poor. The rotis and baatis were extremely hard and practically not eatable. Another issue was that there was hardly anyone available at the reception to assist guests. During booking, we were also told that a complimentary camel ride would be provided. However, when we asked for it, the ride was only around 50 meters, which felt more like a formality rather than an actual experience. While we understand that the resort is located in a remote desert area and managing operations there can be challenging, basic cleanliness, maintenance, and guest amenities are still expected. Overall, the property is not maintained properly and does not justify being rated as a 4-star hotel. Hope to see improvement for another guests.

Very Disappointing – Not As Promised We booked Khamma Ghani Resort in Jaisalmer after discussing all details beforehand, but the reality was completely different from what was promised. They showed photos of AC rooms, but on arrival we were told there were no AC rooms available. The rooms and washrooms were in terrible condition, with broken shower and even no proper water supply. Most of the promised services like welcome drink and camel safari were not provided. The food quality was extremely poor, and even basic things like water bottles were not provided in the room. After eating the food, we even had stomach problems. The cultural program lasted only about 30 minutes and was nothing special. Overall, it felt like they only care about business and not about guest experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this property. The photos they share online are very misleading.
