Check Inn Today Resort

We stayed at Check-Inn Today Resort as a family in late April and really liked this great hotel in Coonoor. The property itself is a charming piece of history — a British-era bungalow over 100 years old, thoughtfully converted into a small hotel with just 6–8 rooms. The building's colonial style has been kept in place, and the green surroundings make it a very peaceful place to relax. There's plenty of parking on the premises, which is great if you're travelling by car with family. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained and spotlessly clean — as are the washrooms. It never felt cramped or rushed, which is because there are not many guests at a time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing missing is an in-house dining option. That said, it's a nice 10-minute walk downhill to Coonoor town centre, where there are lots of places to eat. So it's easy to get to, just something to keep in mind. For the price, this place offers really good value. If you're looking for a place to stay with your family where it's quiet, and away from the noise of typical tourist hotels, Check-Inn Today Resort is absolutely worth it. Would we go back? Absolutely.

It was truly a wonderful stay for my family. Affordable price range. The manager, staff, and service team were all very friendly and supportive. The owner is a responsible person who answered our calls whenever needed and provided proper responses. The manager and helper akka arranged home made food exactly as we requested and extended great support throughout our stay. The food was very tasty and felt just like homemade food. The staff members were polite and caring. Rooms are simple but good enough for my family! There is plenty of parking space available for cars. Overall, it is a cheap and best homestay with excellent hospitality. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful family stay.

We booked this hotel for freshening up and putting our feet up. However, when we reached the place our allotted room was not ready as the earlier occupants had gone out and not returned. We were temporarily put on a higher floor but my mother could not climb the stairs so had to sit in the lounge. Seeing our diffiult they told us to leave the room and keep the luggage in the lounge. Since we had made plans with the vehicle we left for the day's sight seeing. When we returned our luggage was sitting in the lounge and the allotted room was given to us. However, we found that the commode was clogged and we could not use the washroom. For our urgent use they showed us another Indian style toilet outside but we could not use the same. Plumbers were called to unclog the toilet and after 1 or 1.5 hours we could use the toilet. Soon after we had check out anyway!! Call it bad luck or mismanagement.

The room tariff of ₹3,000 per night for a single room felt on the higher side considering the facilities provided. Additionally, the check-in and check-out policy was not a full 24-hour cycle, and we were requested to vacate the room two hours earlier than expected. Communication at the reception was also challenging due to a language barrier, as the receptionist spoke only Tamil. Furthermore, the room lacked proper ventilation. Overall, I felt the pricing did not adequately reflect the overall experience and amenities provided.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was spotlessly clean, very cozy, and surrounded by beautiful, quiet nature. The rooms were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the Manager was very kind and helpful.
