Sparsa Kanyakumari

I stayed at Sparsa Hotel Kanyakumari for one night on August 1st. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. We arrived at the hotel around 4 pm and were immediately greeted by a strong smell of paint in the lobby, as the hotel was undergoing renovation. When we checked into our room, we found it to be quite different from what was advertised on their website. The interiors did not match the photos, and the bathroom was not clean. Many of the amenities appeared old and poorly maintained. When we contacted reception to request a room change, we were told that it was not possible. To make matters worse, we were informed at check-in that we needed to check out by 10 am the next day, even though the standard check-out time is typically 12 noon. It is frustrating and disappointing to see that the hotel is still accepting guests while undergoing such significant renovations. It would have been more considerate to close the hotel temporarily rather than subject guests to such subpar conditions. Overall, I was very disappointed with the service, and I would not recommend staying here. We traveled all the way from Malaysia and expected much better from this hotel.

Hotel under new management and is getting renovated. The rooms are cozy. Swimming pool definitely is a highlight. Polite staff. Amazing and delicious food. No compliants.

This hotel is quite basic and is in need of updating with dim lighting and dated furniture. However, we were downgraded (with refund) to a different room because they reported renovations are ongoing so hopefully it will be a bit nicer and brighter in the future. |What pushes this review into the very good category is the excellent meals in the restaurant at truly great prices. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. There was an occasional language barrier as we only speak English but eventually everything worked out just fine and as I noted, the food was great. Worth just going for the restaurant!

Value for money. Check in and check out processes were smooth. Staffs were courteous Deluxe room - Spacious yet needs to be renovated. Bed lamps are not safe it was earthening a bit. Air conditioning unit was old one and doesn't fit for the room size, took a lot of time to settle in. Ambience - Pool and garden area neatly maintained. Restaurant service was decent, could've more options in buffet Location - Excellent 👌👌 just opposite of sea view

Great location in town to get to all the sights. 20/25 minute walk to the ferry to get a trip out to the island, about the same distance the other way to get to sunset point. The staff at the hotel we're very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay there. Our room was quite good, a little old but clean. The aircon sort of worked but we needed the fan on as well to keep the room at a sensible temperature. We ate at the hotel and really enjoyed the food plus the friendly service. We didn't use the pool but it looked very good. Overall, a good stay in a good location

This hotel is as close to the sea as it’s possible. It is an ideal location to view Sunrise and Sunset at the most southern tip of India. |The hotel facilities are very good. Maybe the hotel looks a little tired but it suited our needs very well. |Meals were very good and food was served piping hot which was great. There was a misunderstanding regarding serving alcohol at dinner time. We were not able to purchase a beer in the main restaurant, we could buy a beer at the bar. We didn’t realise you could also have the same meals in the bar area. We only understood this after finishing our meal with a lime soda. Maybe a better explanation would have helped us. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. |There a swimming pool, gymnasium and nice garden and the hotel also has a good spa facility for various treatments. |I rate this hotel excellent overall

Stayed here for official visit. Unique ambience (little old style but maintained). Clean and spacious rooms. Books available for reading (haven't seen this in any other hotel). Garden is beautiful (you can see peacocks roaming around you). Sea facing entrance. You can go for morning/evening walk and enjoy sunrise as well as sunset from the view tower which is hardly 5 min walk from this hotel. Can work on pest control chemicals smell.
