Ganga Retreat by Yog Gurukul Rishikesh

Truly in the lap of nature on the banks of Ganga, the property offers a splendid experience. Away from the city noise yet not far, the stay is a memorable one with home made food to order. Good for a large family outing as well with option to have some exclusive yoga camps. The rooms are small but cosy with all basic amenities. Room service is also acceptable.

Ganga yoga retreat was an amazing place to stay. We spent 2 weeks there and I loved my experience. There is a garden with trees, the food is amazing, the staff is always helpful and we are less than a minute from a nice Ganga beach. I really recommend it to anyone that needs some time to rest and recharge their energy. Thank you again for everything! Can’t wait to come back Micaela

Such a calm and nice place, next to jungle and ganga, with such nice people. Unforgetable place to do yoga and enjoy the sound of birds, away from the city noises. I had an excelent time there.| The food was great. I love the dinning hall so much, nice and quiet.|Meditation next to ganga which is 50 steps away was my favourite.|I was looking for a place, away from cities to just focus on my yoga practices and enjoy, which i found them all here.|

Living in Ganga yog retreat has been an unwinding experience. Away from the hustle bustle, it's so easy to have me-time around this place. The forest is right next to it which is one of the main highlights and just after a small walk through the forest, you come across a clean and beautiful beach. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with all the basic amenities. The dining and the yoga hall are quite spacious. Both the halls have garden and forest view which adds to the vibe of the place. Also, the staff here is quite friendly and helpful. Overall, it was wonderful to stay here for two weeks.

Ganga Yog retreat is an absolutely amazing place. You can hear the river Ganga and the sounds of the forest when you fall asleep (and not stressful honking horns), go to swim in the amazing Ganga in the morning (clean, cold and beautiful), and enjoy the shade of the trees. The owner and staff are very nice, and the rooms are beautiful. Furthermore it is amazing doing yoga in the hall but still feeling immersed in nature.

Location of the retreat is perfect - in the middle of the nature, with the access to Ganga, with the sounds of grasshoppers and birds instead of bustling super noisy from traffic streets around Tapovan (was staying there in few places and was so happy to find this hidden paradise, so peaceful, green and clean). It's a fantastic place for who looks for calm place to practice yoga and owns spiritual practises. Also just to cut off oneself from outside world. Highly recommended!

It was relaxing time to stay this ashram. There’s a lot of nature, animals and near the ashram there’s Ganga river also. Good hospitality and we enjoyed not only Indian food but also various types of tea:) We can enjoy doing yoga on yoga hall there and front of Ganga!! And the most great thing for me, I saw a lot of fireflies there..it was amazing. Thank you so much.

Disappointed Disheartened Disbelief! We visited this property on 5th November 2021 with family and our 8 months old labrador. Prior bookings were made, pet related details were shared and enquired on any challenges that can be a concern. Disappointed: If you are looking for a comfortable family stay, the property doesn't have any amenities of cooking. For basics like coffee, a bowl of daal or any biscuit - staff will refuse as they have to fetch it from the shop. They will be very vocal to say we don't have any ration and we are sorry. The rooms are extremely small with tiny washroom. There is no view, and barely a beach but that is still okay. For Yoga sessions will suggest to inform prior because the owner brings his tutor. Disheartened We were welcomed saying" Ensure you don't sit on bed as you have dog hair on our clothes." We were quite surprised and honestly we contested at this state because bookings were made and we were told it is a pet friendly property. Disbelief The only good thing in this property are there are few strays who get easy access because there are technically no gates or a sign board but they are the most warm creatures in this property. The staff shooes them off with a stick, scares them and doesn't feed them. The icing on the disappointment was the owner Mr. Nitin Dev who came for his Yoga session pitched about his Cafe Hide Out. He was not only vaguely interested to talk about his property, he was starkly cold. Will never suggest to go for this property. But in case you do, keep the expectations low.
