Spring range farmhouse

The Western Ghats are beautiful everywhere, but Spring Range is located at an exceptionally scenic viewpoint within them. The farmhouse has been developed by slightly upgrading an old farmer's residence. It was only after speaking with the caretaker that I understood some of its limitations. In fact, the efforts to develop this place began early on, with the goal of introducing people to this unique vibe. Plans are already underway for modern amenities including an auditorium, cottages, a swimming pool, and pool villas. The caretaker also mentioned that these developments are expected to be completed within a few years. Once realized, there is no doubt that this will become one of the most beautiful properties in South India.

The place really let me down. Although the location is stunning with great views and nice surroundings, the inside was a completely different story and definitely not what I expected. It felt grimy and neglected, like it hadn't been properly cleaned in ages. The bathrooms were gross, and the kitchen was piled with dirty dishes. Plus, there wasn't even a water purifier, so bring your own bottled water. They will assure that the pipe water comes purified and is fit for drinking. But no purifiers were found anywhere in the property. Honestly this place needs some serious cleaning and refresh!!! Really disappointing experience overall. Wouldn't recommend it.

Spring Range Farmhouse – Nestled in the breathtaking beauty of the Western Ghats, this is a place where, at a minimal cost, you can spend some quality time with your loved ones — cooking, grilling, and simply relaxing. It truly gives you a sense of being recharged. I came to know that it will soon be transformed into a modern resort with state-of-the-art facilities. And when that happens, it wouldn’t be surprising if Spring Range gains international attention. Such is the charm of this location — the breeze, the weather, and the overall atmosphere are remarkably different from the usual resort experiences.

We stayed on 9th-10th April at this amazing property. It has been recently refurbished and the cottage is fully equipped with bunker beds, individual beds, a functioning kitchen if you want to cook, dining room with fridge and a back area for barbecue with a huge grill and the works. Situated in Kakkadampoyil it has a majestic view of the mountains. Next to the cottage is a sit out area with benches and a table where you can relax and chat. Can get quite hot in the summer and some fans in the cottage bedrooms are small - that is the only con. Feedback was given to the owner who is very receptive. Definitely worth visiting again in the monsoon and winter. Caretaker is friendly and hospitality is good. If you are going to this property note that no food is served, you will have to go to a local restaurant or nearby town for food or better still cook. Recommended nearby restaurant for food is Masai - the best!

Don’t be misled by the promotional video. The way the property is showcased in the video is completely different from the actual reality, like comparing apples to oranges. What you see in the video is something doesn’t reflect the on-ground truth.
