Vienna International Hotel

We stayed in this hotel. It is extremely inconvenient (S 4th Ring Road). The location on Google Maps is incorrect -- it is actually on the south side of the ring road. While the staff were very nice and always tried to be helpful, and the breakfast wasn't too bad, the fact is that it's a crappy hotel. * There is no refrigerator in the rooms. * Getting Internet access is impossible to do on your own (and I have a Chinese phone!) -- a staff member at the front desk eventually used his phone to allow us to connect. * There is no laundry service. If you want to do your washing there are a couple of washing machines (next to the gym) but no place to hang your washing (you have to use chairs, tables, etc. in your room). * The build quality is poor (nails can be felt through the carpet, the shower is not waterproof -- water can seep through to the outside carpet, our 3-year old managed to pull the backing off the bed). * As in all Chinese hotels "No smoking" signs mean nothing -- at times the entire corridor was filled with the smell of cigarette smoke from "No smoking" rooms. * Public transport is inconvenient -- 10 minutes' walk to the nearest subway, then 1-2 stops until you actually get to the city subway network. When we caught a taxi from the middle of town, the taxi driver would only take us if we paid extra. The main plus is the Aolai-cun shopping and restaurant area next to the hotel (although the clothing here looks like remainders from shops elsewhere in the city), which also has things for kids to do (a train, an amusement centre...).

我们住在这家酒店。极其不方便（南四环）。谷歌地图上的位置不正确——它实际上是在环路的南侧。 虽然工作人员非常友善并且总是尽力提供帮助，而且早餐也不错，但事实是这是一家蹩脚的酒店。 * 房间内没有冰箱。 * 独自上网是不可能的（而且我有一部中国电话！）——前台的一位工作人员最终用他的电话让我们能够上网。 * 不提供洗衣服务。如果你想洗衣服，这里有几台洗衣机（健身房旁边），但没有地方可以挂你的衣服（你必须使用房间里的椅子、桌子等）。 * 做工质量很差（可以透过地毯感觉到钉子，淋浴间不防水——水可以渗到外面的地毯上，我们三岁的孩子设法把床上的靠背拉下来）。 * 和所有中国酒店一样，“禁止吸烟”标志毫无意义——有时整个走廊都充满了“禁止吸烟”房间的烟味。 * 公共交通不方便——步行10分钟到最近的地铁站，然后坐1-2站才能真正到达城市地铁网络。当我们从市中心打车时，出租车司机只有在我们额外付费的情况下才会载我们去。 主要优点是酒店旁边的傲来村购物和餐厅区（尽管这里的衣服看起来像是城里其他地方商店的剩余物），那里也有适合孩子们做的事情（火车、游乐中心...... ）。
